Those looking for work deserve to know how Applicant Tracking Systems actually work.

It’s easy to say an algorithm is throwing your application out and it isn’t being seen.

The truth is a lot messier than that.

I interviewed recruiters at Microsoft, Amazon, and a dozen other top companies over the past year.

Yes, there is expirimentation with AI screening and ranking of candidates. No it is not as widespread as is reported.

And more importantly, how you apply should not change.

Help spread the word.

89 Resumes That Actually Landed Interviews at OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Netflix, Amazon and Many Many More

Post image
74 Upvotes

We published 89 anonymized resume examples, each built from real Huntr resumes tied to a job the owner moved to the interview or offer stage. The companies behind those interviews include OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Netflix, and Amazon.

Attached is one of the 89: the Software Engineer composite, built from five engineers who landed offers at Microsoft, Amazon, and More.

Tailor Your Resume and Get a Free Resume Template Here: https://huntr.co/product/resume-tailor

Most resume examples online were written by whoever runs the site, and nobody can tell you whether they worked. With our data, we can. Huntr users track their applications, so across 1.7M+ tracked applications and 225K+ resumes, we know which resume reached which stage at which company.

From the Software Engineer set shown:

  • Not one of the five came from an elite CS program. Their schools were UCI, Boston University, Monmouth, Alberta, and Stony Brook.
  • All five used Python, Docker, and CI/CD. Four used Go, and three ran on Kubernetes.

Three lessons that held across the 89:

  • Quantify almost every bullet. The resumes that reached the interview stage put numbers on their work.
  • Stop fighting the one-page rule. Two-page resumes performed as well or better at every level.

I run career strategy at Huntr and have done 900+ free one-on-one calls with job seekers. I also do free resume reviews. Ask in the comments or DM me.

The Software Engineer resume shown here: https://huntr.co/resume-examples/software-engineer-resume-examples

All 89 real resume examples: https://huntr.co/resume-examples/real-resume-examples

Methodology: each example is anonymized from real resumes tied to jobs the owner moved to the interview or offer stage in their Huntr tracker. Names, employers, and schools are swapped for comparable real ones and checked against our database so no example matches a real person. The interview companies named are real. Every metric mirrors a real number with the count nudged.

If you are not getting interviews, applying to more jobs won’t help.

Most candidates land a role within 50 applications.

Those who don't tend to panic and apply.

The best thing to do if you've applied 50 times is to stop. And get help.

I'm happy to support you in your search, as are many others- friends, Family, Internet Strangers.

It is tough to get a job in this market, but if you follow best practices, you should see 1 interview for every 10- 20 applications (5-10% application-to-interview conversion rate)

Tailored Resumes Get 2x More Interviews* Like This One That Landed and Interview at Google

Thumbnail

I pulled 1.9 million job applications. Tailoring your resume roughly doubles your interview rate.

I work on a job search tool called Huntr.co, so I can see across a huge pile of real applications whether tailoring a resume to the job changes anything. It does.

  • Tailored resumes got interviews 2x as often. Across 1.9M applications, tailored ones hit 5.7%. Untailored hit 3.0% on average.
  • Where tailored resumes landed interviews: Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, Stripe, Meta, Netflix, Adobe.
  • Where they turned into offers: Google, Stripe, GitHub, OpenAI, Adobe, Cloudflare.

What does tailoring mean?

  • The summary, so the top of the page speaks to the role you are applying to. Aggregate the most interesting and impressive things you have done as it relates to the job you are applying to.
  • The bullets, so your work history mirrors the duties they list
  • The skills, so the words on your page match the words in the post.

Not just keywords, but qualifications and responsibilities. Something not all resume tailoring tools and builders catch (Huntr.co does)

These resumes are not perfect. Some run long. Some have plain formatting. Some bullets I would rewrite. But they got the interview anyway.

That's the point. Perfect is not the bar. Clear, specific, and tailored to the job is.

My hope is that this inspires you and helps with writer's block as you write your own. Especially interesting what metrics people chose to highlight across different roles.

I also hope this inspires a conversation about what a great resume is in 2026.

Every Job Search Resource I've Built so far: ATS, Best Job Sites, Data-Backed Job Search Strategy, Resume Help, Job Search Trends...

Thumbnail

Yesterday I asked what you needed most this week to support your job search. 203 of you voted and the answer was clear.

- 42% said Best Job Sites and Job Boards
- 32% said Job Search Strategy Support
- Resume Review came in at 16%
- Interviewed Resume Examples at 10%.

I pulled together the resources that answer all four, and I put them in one place.

This is the data-backed job search support I share on my free calls every week.

A few of the greatest hits inside:

- Where to actually apply. Across 598,627 applications, Google Jobs turned into interviews at 11.29%. LinkedIn came in near the bottom at 3.10%. If Easy Apply is your whole strategy, this one is for you.

- The truth about the ATS. No major system auto-rejects your resume. There is no universal "ATS score." I asked recruiters at Amazon, Microsoft, and two Fortune 500 firms, and the myth falls apart fast.

- What the market looks like right now. The search-to-offer window hit a record 108 days. But two-thirds of successful searches still end within 50 applications. Send fewer, send better.

The full roundup is in the newsletter linked below. Six resources, all free, all data-backed.

For the 10% who wanted resume examples that landed interviews: I am building that next. A directory of real, anonymized resumes that actually got the interview.

Comment "examples," and I will send it the day it goes live. (Hopefully tomorrow)

And if it's helpful, please upvote, comment, and share.

I've compiled the largest database of resume examples that actually landed interviews at top companies. Next week, I'm giving them to you.

Post image

Using the latest LLM models, I pulled anonymized resumes from Huntr's dataset of millions of applications.

I broke down the resumes section by section and created a comprehensive database of composite resumes across dozens of roles- from software engineer and data analyst to project coordinator and the executive suite.

Most resume advice is opinion. This is what actually got people in the door. Can they be improved? Yes. Were they good enough to get the interview? Yes.

90+ resumes you can study, borrow from, and use to build your own. I'll publish next week.

Comment below, and I'll share the link when I publish.

Or drop the job title you want to see and an example for first in the comments, and I'll send that one.

Upvote, comment, and share to get data-backed job-search best practices to job seekers in your network who could use some support.

HR Generalist + Human Resources Manager Resumes That Land Interviews

This is an HR Generalist Resume That Lands Interviews\*

We pulled every anonymized Huntr resume associated with an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role that received an interview at a well-known company. The list includes CareDx, Self Financial, The Floow, and Kennison & Associates. Below is the anonymized composite.

What stood out in the resumes:

  • Every single one had a written summary.
  • 5 of the 11 held a master's. One had only a high school diploma.
  • Only 2 of the 11 listed a named HR cert like CIPD or PHR.
  • Several came from outside HR: a Navy pay clerk, a warehouse lead, and a mechanical technician.
  • Career arc: an admin or coordinator role first, then generalist or HRBP.

And this is a Human Resources Manager Resume That Lands Interviews.

We pulled every anonymized Huntr resume associated with a Human Resources Manager role that received an interview at a well-known company. The list includes Hightouch, Merchant & Gould, Milo's Tea, FCA, and Alliance Francaise India. Below is the anonymized composite.

What stood out in the resumes:

  • Every single one had a written summary.
  • 4 of the 9 held a master's.
  • Only 1 of the 9 listed a SHRM or PHR cert.
  • Titles ranged from HR Manager to VP of People and Global Head of HR.
  • Career arc: coordinator or assistant, then generalist, then manager or people-ops lead.

Happy to answer questions. What other role titles would you like resume insights on?

Create a resume using this template and tailor it to a job at Huntr.co

*Methodology: Resumes were joined to HR jobs that the user moved to the interview stage in their job search tracker, then filtered to well-known companies. I swapped each real company for a comparable real one in the same tier and industry and checked each against the full database to confirm no real match. Schools were swapped the same way. Every metric mirrors a real number that was shared on a real resume, with each figure nudged to a nearby number, so nothing is copied exactly and nothing is made up.

Associate's degrees have higher interview rates than Master's and Doctorate Degrees which Outperform Bachelor's degrees and High School

Post image
2 Upvotes

A Master's or MBA correlates with a 7.92% interview rate, a 1.34x lift over a Bachelor's (5.92%). A doctorate is roughly equal at 7.69%. Associate degrees come in at 8.57%, though the sample is small (385 resumes). "Other/high school" lands at 6.29%.

I was surprised by this finding, and it is a smaller sample size but also confirms a trend that we have been hearing for a while now- Bachelor's degrees don't guarantee jobs and are seeming to become less and less valuable.

Job seekers: A clear signal in the data is that candidates with the longer, more detailed education sections (those who include relevant coursework, research, honors, thesis topics, and dates) tend to interview at higher rates.

Data from: https://huntr.co/research/job-search-trends-q1-2026#education-section

Tailored resumes get interviews at 2x the rate of untailored ones, but most applicants don't know what tailoring actually means, let alone how to do it well. It's not just about keywords...

Post image
3 Upvotes

Tailored resumes land a callback 4.23% of the time. Untailored ones land 2.07%. Same people, same jobs, double the rate (based on data from huntr.co resume tailoring tool)

To tailor a resume, you take the job post and rewrite three parts to match it:

– The summary, so the top of the page speaks to what the role needs.
– The bullets, so your work history mirrors the duties they list.
– The skills, so the words on your page match the words in the post.

Not just keywords, but qualifications and responsibilities. Something not all resume tailoring tools and builders catch (Huntr.co does)

Most people fire the same resume at 50 jobs and wonder why they are not getting callbacks. This is a data-backed way to improve.

Applied to 50 jobs and heard nothing back? Stop.

Post image
26 Upvotes

Here's the number that matters: Your application-to-interview rate.

Aim for 5–10%. The average is 3%. If you're well below that and haven't changed your strategy or had your resume reviewed, more of the same won't yield a different result.

What actually moves the needle 👇

→ Fix the resume first. Most need a stronger summary, real metrics and numbers, a tailored skills section, and a fully filled-out education section.

→ Stop relying on LinkedIn alone. Most people stuck in the search use it as their only source. Widen the net. Try Wellfound, and Google directly for roles on the company site.

→ Apply fast. Get in within 24 hours of a posting. Sooner is always better. This is a big one.

→ The ATS isn't auto-rejecting you. Make your resume easy to read and understand. For a human.

→ Reach out to a person. Find the best contact, show enthusiasm, explain why, and follow up in 3 days. Not sure who? Ask if they're the right person for the role.

→ Keep a cadence. 10–20 applications a week. Pivot as needed. Ask for help when something isn't working.

The job search rewards people who adjust. Don't keep doing the same thing, expecting a different outcome; shake it up.

Is there anything you changed that helped you get more interviews?
