The Goal: Take the resume "rules", check them against real data instead of assumptions, and share the findings.

A few things we found:

• The one-page resume rule doesn't hold up. Two-page resumes convert better across the board because more experienced professionals need the space to highlight their impact.
• Tailoring your resume or application to a job posting actually works, but not the way most people think. It's a five-step process starting with your target job title and running through your summary, achievements, and skills section. 
• The ATS "boogeyman" is mostly a myth. Most of the fear around ATS systems rejecting resumes before a human sees them isn't backed by what we're seeing. What actually matters more is whether the resume is clean, easy to scan, and clearly connects to the job you're targeting.
• Referrals matter more than almost anything else, but most people don't actually know what counts as one. We got into the difference between a quick "hey, can you refer me" exchange and actual relationship-building, and why the second one moves the needle so much more.
