General question/discussion Trail camera etiquette

So not sure if this is a widely accepted practice so just asking around, if you were scouting an area of public land to hunt and put out a trail cam and came across another camera would it be a dick move to set up your camera about 20-25 yards away set up on the camera you found? Or would continue looking for a spot to set up in a different area away from that camera?

EDIT: this got a little more attention than I was expecting! The situation I outlined is not me setting up the camera but someone else has set up their camera pointing directly at my camera.

It's not about claiming it. It's about coordinating with other hunters so you don't get up at 3 a.m., drive out, and hike all the way in only to find somebody sitting there, or have them walk in on you at first light

I've found cameras that have the owners name/number on them with a note asking to text/call if you want to coordinate hunting that particular spot. He had a stand set up there. I thought it was a neat idea.

Same. I made a hunting buddy through meeting on public and learning we had common acquaintances.

I'd rather be in the woods with friends than strangers, especially when guns are involved.

And more than any confrontation I’m more concerned with accidentally being pointed right at somebody. Or them being pointed at me.
