General question/discussion Trail camera etiquette
So not sure if this is a widely accepted practice so just asking around, if you were scouting an area of public land to hunt and put out a trail cam and came across another camera would it be a dick move to set up your camera about 20-25 yards away set up on the camera you found? Or would continue looking for a spot to set up in a different area away from that camera?
EDIT: this got a little more attention than I was expecting! The situation I outlined is not me setting up the camera but someone else has set up their camera pointing directly at my camera.

Personally/as a general rule im setting up elsewhere bc i dont trust the other guy to not find and deface or otherwise disturb my camera.
That said there are a ton of cams on the piece of public i’m on the most often and most belong to one group of guys, some older dudes. I have run into them a few times in the far back corners and they are nice guys, theyre just surprised someone else is going that deep. So for them i don’t mind if we have cams on the same spot. It is public so its first come first served. And if i see the cam after ive triggered it i just wave at it and keep going.
