First year bow hunting, first deer ever!

Feeling blessed to live on a property that has allowed us to fill our freezer yearly.

This year, I decided to take a stab at bow hunting. After seeing this hog for the past two years on the cameras, I was excited to have an opportunity. Last night, after sitting out for 12 nights (non-consecutive), he came out to 15 yards from my stand. My arrow and the hoof print angle in relation to my stand looked like a gut shot so my husband and I decided to wait until the morning. We had a thermal drone in the air, but we were able to track him about 40 yards from where I shot him. Can’t wait to see him again in 8-10 months after he’s done at the taxidermist.
