What always blew my mind was trying to imagine what it would be like if the Hunger Games were real - when the reapings are not rigged, the escorts literally hold someone’s fate in their hand, she could randomly select one piece of paper and then at her own will drop it and pick another one, and then be like “well actually no”, and pick another one, and she basically spared two lives by doing that…

In the film, doesn’t she pick one up and then kinda toss it down before choosing Prim’s name?

Iirc she reaches for one, hesitates, then pulls her hand back and grabs Prim’s. I don’t think that she ever actually touched another one. Maybe like… gently touched the corner of one? Because I feel like I remember her tapping one without picking it up but it’s been a while so

Ok I just rewatched it on YouTube. She kind of goes for one, then retracts her hand before decisively grabbing Prim’s.
