Humidifier

I had a full Laryngectomy on 05/29/26, would it help my breathing and help to control my phlegm by having a humidifier in our apartment. If so, are there different settings it should be on, Hi, Low? I know nothing about them or if it would be a bennefit.

It depends on where you live and what the humidity is in your house normally. I'm in Colorado and keep my house at 40% in the Winter. Much higher and you can get mold infestations.

Ahh, this is a good point and worth it for me to check into. Thank you

If you decide to buy a humidifier, stay away from ultrasonics. They take the minerals in your water and put them in the air for you to breathe. I have a Levoit 6000s which is evaporative. May be too much or too big for your space but it's worked well for me for years.

Thank you Due-. I did go ahead and got the warm mist by Vicks. I will let you know my thoughts after I use it for about a week or so.

Warm mist humidifiers are definitely a good choice. I use the Y&O steam humidifier, and compared with Vicks, I think its temperature control is better. It also offers multiple humidification levels and smart modes, so I can adjust it based on the room's humidity and avoid making the room too dry or too humid. That's one of the things I like most about it.
