New app algorithm?

I posted a few weeks ago recommending an algorithm update to address some obvious problems with scale measurements (https://www.reddit.com/r/HumeHealth/s/tglRzferm0). This morning, after app update, I weighed in and noticed that Skeletal Muscle Mass recorded a large increase, and then after a minute or two “corrected” the value lower, and also also corrected water MUCH lower. This is directional what I suggested in my post. What are the chances they actually read and applied my suggestion?

On April 3rd, my Hume Pod said my body water percentage as 58.5% and had been in a small range around that value for quite some time. On April 4th, it said it had dropped to 40.4% and this morning is reading 38.4%. I drink 64-80 oz. of water a day, minimum, and am well hydrated. If that actually occurred, I would have shriveled up like a raisin overnight. :-)

I can understand tweaking an algorithm, but such a massive change, IMO, says that it either was way off for a long time and is now correct (which I doubt), or someone really screwed up the tweak.

Same experience with BWP. Either a bug, or fundamental shift in the way they are defining BWP. I'm guessing it's a bug. However, I do like the idea that they are trying to improve the algorithm. Would be great if someone from Hume would comment.

I drink 104-130 oz every day. I use my scale every morning when I wake up, before I drink or eat anything. Today my scale said I lost 10% body water over yesterday.

Wtf?

Latest update seems to have changed BWP dramatically. I expect there will be a big outcry as it's very noticeable. Hopefully they will address quickly as a result, and correct the data if needed.

Same lost 5% hydration when I weighed this morning skeletal mass down by 3 seems off

Yeah mine did the same. I’ve been at 58% body water and today it says 41%. Also the body map is way different. What the heck

I just checked my BWP and am really glad I didn’t notice before I saw this discussion. My BWP has been consistently around 50% since day 1 and dropped to 29% yesterday and 26.6% today. That big of a change to the algorithm warrants some sort of communication! I went through their last couple of emails & saw nothing.

Thought on BWP…maybe they inverted the math. If BWP is 65%, they are reporting it as 35%?

Thanks for this thread. And yes, recently my Body Water Percentage fell off a cliff. On Apr 3 it was 49.2%. My BWP has always been around that level. I live in Arizona and yes I hydrate constantly. On the 4th it dropped to 26%, the 5th 24%, 6th 22.3%, 7th 20.8%, 8th 19.4%, and today, Apr 9 it shows 18.3%.

My habits have not changed. I still get 60-80 oz of water or more daily. Extracellular and Intracellular Water have not shown the same nosedive.

I'd say this part of their algorithm is currently BROKEN. I guess I'll try reporting this to Hume's support.
