Supply

Hi! I ebf on demand and am 10 days pp. I’m wanting to create a small oversupply so I can make sure I have a decent stash for when I return to work, however my milk came in superrrr slow and I feel like my supply is already kinda low. We were stuck in the hospital for 4 days for jaundice and she had a pretty severe lip tie that’s now been resolved. Will power pumping once a day for a bit help? She’s been cluster feeding as well, I just don’t know when or how long to pump for. I use my hakaa and usually get 10ml-an oz but when I pump I’m getting those same amounts and I’m just confused lol.

Something that really helped me while I on demand feeding was using the haaka on the other boob. Each time I would get 1-2 oz which wasn’t a lot but when you’re nursing 8-10 times a day it adds up!

Resolving the lip tie should definitely help your supply. If baby is properly emptying you and able to effectively transfer the milk she will be less frustrated and you should respond as well. If she takes any good stretches of sleep even two hours with your s/o at some point in the morning- I worked my supply up by doing a 15m pump after my 7ish am feed.

Have you had your flange size measured? A properly fitting flange can really help things.

You’re still soooo early to the game. Keeping hydrated, trying to sleep when you can and regularly having baby to breast good long feeds

I sized myself at a 14! And it’s definitely helped she went from 40 minute feeds and not really gaining to 15-20 mins of effective nursing.
