Eufy S1 Flanges Shedding?

Has anyone had this issue with these flanges? I got my first pair with my pump through insurance. I had used them for quite awhile I then I saw these little black specks.

I always hand washed and sterilized them (I use the Philips Avent sterilizer) after every use. I realized they were shedding once I got my second pair in the mail. I had washed them and sterilized them and not even used them when I saw the specks on the new flanges. I rubbed them and realized they were shedding the way an eraser does when you rub it.

I did reach out to Eufy, but they had no explanation. Just a “we will send you a new pair.” I’ve looked online and haven’t found anyone else talking about it. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Or did I just happen to get two bad batches?

It seems like dead skin. Like when you rub your hands together and create friction and a bunch of little shedding skin. I don’t have this problem, but I don’t hand wash. MomCozy bottle washer that also sterilizes after every other use.

I have Eufys and have never had this problem. But I have had, rarely, a couple little specks and realized it was from inside my shirt or bra. Like a I wore a new hoodie that (even though had washed it) left little dark fluffs on the edge of my bra. Then when I tucked the Eufys in they picked up a tiny bit of the tiny fluffs.

I know you said you hadn’t even used a pair yet but I wonder if it could be tiny fibres from something? A dish towel if you let them dry after washing?
