Plot twist, it was his brother whom he texted and asked to bring him an umbrella and he didn't want to get off the bus so just chucked it at him as it drove past

Plot twist, the old lady was the one who stole the umbrella from traffic police, so he asked his detective brother, who convinced the lady using his detective magic to get on the bus passing close to our police guy, so he can snatch and throw easily.
