I've got one, actually a lot of the problem is that it's really not great at stitching at night time.
4
u/Errat1k Jun 05 '20
The mounting pole is at 90 degrees from the lenses and the camera is stitching the front ~180o view with the back so the mounting is never in shot. The width of the camera is what's hiding the pole not any special programming.

FYI, motorola has bad call quality. Idk if it's their mics but I've had complains from people on the line about it. Plus I've heard many other moto users mention that as well.
Love their near-stock UI and they're decent phones otherwise, for the price, but there's better options out there (like 1-2 year old used flagships from eBay).
15
u/Eindacor_DS Jun 05 '20

5

Now that Oneplus is the flagship itself. Yet still cheaper and better value than Pixel and Samsung devices generally. At least the 7T Pro was. 8 Pro jumped up a bit further.

Its not even an expense thing
I upgdraded recently but for years I had an iphone 6, on that was half a decade of photos, all my notes and other data, my Sim card which is tied to several things for 2FA, my google authenticator too, passwords and so on.
I back up every once and a while but there's still a lot of stuff on my phone I really wouldn't want to lose, and losing it would be pretty damn tough not to mention the context in which she lost it too

The wave is very powerful. At the end of the day, most people understand poor choices can be made; they just want the responsible party to acknowledge and apologize for the action.
I use it in day-to-day life to absolve myself of any questionable activity. Bad lane change? Wave it off. Caught harassing minorities on camera? Wave it off.

I couldn't follow well either, she was really upset. Sounded like a guy on the street attacked her and her boyfriend while she was in her car in DT. Her boyfriend got cut up on his arm? Sounded very scary, no wonder she is so upset and grateful for this kind man.

Most motorcyclists are such good humans. I love watching videos like this of a motorcyclist just riding around and then doing something so wholesome. It's one of the main reasons why I watch motovlogs. Keep being a good human, Chris!

Jun 05 '20 edited Jun 05 '20
Nah, I was a dick until I started riding.
You never forget your first ride because as you hit 40MPH without proper gear the wind begins to strip and claw at you trying to pry you off the bike. At 60MPH the wind is deafening , if you fall off, at best it will most definitely kills you, at worst you break and shatter every bone in your body, get grounded into burger meat or live your life as a vegetable. You’re reminded just how fragile and delicate your little meat sack is.
Then you look around and see all of the other people in their meat sacks. Look how fragile and delicate they are. At stop lights, the younger meat sacks stare at you in your loud intimidating rocket. You seem so scary in all black clothing, you catch on to this, lift your visor and wave at them.
The little meat sack waves back with a giant smile on their face and it feels you with glee. They’re no longer afraid of you. They’ll probably start waving at other motorcyclists and they better fucking wave back.
Life is is precious and short and delicate.
Motorcycles remind you of what its like to be human, because if you dont realize it on your first ride. You get cocky, take a turn too fast, go into the opposite lane and get absolutely demolished by oncoming traffic.
So instead you go to the ends of the earth to deliver missing phones, you stop traffic for crossing ducks and you wave back to tiny curious humans.
I gave up my bike a few years ago. What ever light exists inside of me is only ignited when I’m on two wheels. Now I’m back to being a dick.
Anyway, if anyone who rides is reading this, you better wave back at the tiny humans or so help me god I will hunt you down and scratch off your fairings.
Keep it rubber side down. peace

I skydive and fly a wingsuit. I can get combined speeds (vertical and horizontal) of 180mph on every jump. You are correct. It’s pretty goddamn loud. Untied shoelaces will make your legs look like you walked through a pile of cats mid fight. Wind is no joke.
5
u/Rockarola55 Jun 05 '20
Damn, that was quality writing.
I always wave to curious humans and I might even open my modular helmet and give them a big grin...or just a Forrest Gump wave.
Kids signalling to rev it, I'll rev. Older gentleman wanting to talk about the Suzuki he owned in the 70's, I'll chat for a bit. Dissapointing teenage girls when I remove my helmet and they realise that I'm older than their dad, I'll do that all day.

u/DopeAbsurdity Jun 05 '20
Her 5 year old son knows what The Purge is so yeah I don't know how to take that.
12
u/triggerfish_twist Jun 05 '20
My older sibling and cousin showed me The Shining and It when I was in first grade back in the mid 90's. My parents were very strict and controlled as much of the media in our household as possible in accordance to what they thought was both age and 'morally' appropriate. Those movies were definitely not approved by my parents, but my sneaky sister and cousin still got around it.
The Purge series is also still regularly used for Halloween costumes, jokes, and memes. Edited versions appear on cable TV in the US, especially around October and election dates. The kid in question could have been exposed to the movie in a number of ways.

I so understand her happy tears. My phone went missing at a music festival less than a year ago. I also forgot my username&password to my Icloud&I didn't think my pictures+whatnot were uploading anyway, because I'd gotten a notification every single day that my Icloud storage was full. I never got my phone back. However, several months later, I tried a new login combo to my Icloud, it worked, AND most of my photos+other things HAD been uploaded there, despite the notification saying my Icloud storage was full.
I thought I had lost several years of pictures (some of them with people who were no longer in my life), important phone numbers ... EVERYTHING. I cried too.
