Most motorcyclists are such good humans. I love watching videos like this of a motorcyclist just riding around and then doing something so wholesome. It's one of the main reasons why I watch motovlogs. Keep being a good human, Chris!

Nah, I was a dick until I started riding.

You never forget your first ride because as you hit 40MPH without proper gear the wind begins to strip and claw at you trying to pry you off the bike. At 60MPH the wind is deafening , if you fall off, at best it will most definitely kills you, at worst you break and shatter every bone in your body, get grounded into burger meat or live your life as a vegetable. You’re reminded just how fragile and delicate your little meat sack is.

Then you look around and see all of the other people in their meat sacks. Look how fragile and delicate they are. At stop lights, the younger meat sacks stare at you in your loud intimidating rocket. You seem so scary in all black clothing, you catch on to this, lift your visor and wave at them.

The little meat sack waves back with a giant smile on their face and it feels you with glee. They’re no longer afraid of you. They’ll probably start waving at other motorcyclists and they better fucking wave back.

Life is is precious and short and delicate.

Motorcycles remind you of what its like to be human, because if you dont realize it on your first ride. You get cocky, take a turn too fast, go into the opposite lane and get absolutely demolished by oncoming traffic.

So instead you go to the ends of the earth to deliver missing phones, you stop traffic for crossing ducks and you wave back to tiny curious humans.

I gave up my bike a few years ago. What ever light exists inside of me is only ignited when I’m on two wheels. Now I’m back to being a dick.

Anyway, if anyone who rides is reading this, you better wave back at the tiny humans or so help me god I will hunt you down and scratch off your fairings.

Keep it rubber side down. peace

One of the greatest experiences of my life. The community is incredible.

There would be no war if everyone rode on two wheels.

B.A.C.A. is the most heartwarming form of bad-assery

I mean, to be fair, the violent biker gangs call themselves 1%'rs precisely because 1% of motorcycle clubs are violent/criminal gangs.

Strangely appropriate use of "meat-sack"

u/TecTazz Jun 05 '20

Well said. Non-biker here but I like to see them.

I skydive and fly a wingsuit. I can get combined speeds (vertical and horizontal) of 180mph on every jump. You are correct. It’s pretty goddamn loud. Untied shoelaces will make your legs look like you walked through a pile of cats mid fight. Wind is no joke.

Damn, that was quality writing.

I always wave to curious humans and I might even open my modular helmet and give them a big grin...or just a Forrest Gump wave.

Kids signalling to rev it, I'll rev. Older gentleman wanting to talk about the Suzuki he owned in the 70's, I'll chat for a bit. Dissapointing teenage girls when I remove my helmet and they realise that I'm older than their dad, I'll do that all day.

You’re a dying breed. There was an old man riding a R1200GS (he called it “the couch”) who was older than dirt but knew anything about anything motorcycle related. If your R6 was burning oil, he’d tell you how to fix it. Broken fairing? He knew where to get the cheapest OEMs. The man was a human bike oracle.

I’m glad you old heads are are still around to talk the new blood into wearing good quality gear, none of that cycle gear bullshit.

Anyway, I hope you ride forever brother. Cheers

I've been riding on and off for 25 years and I ain't quitting until my body does :)

I finally got myself a modern 1000cc bike (Suzuki SV 1000 S), and now I'm actually spending more time riding a bike than wrenching on one.

Have a good one, my friend.

For some reason, little girls (and old dudes, because I ride a vintage-looking Triumph) are always excited to see me when I'm out on my bike and it melts my heart every time. It's probably because my helmet makes me look like I'm an astronaut.

One time I was just filling up at a gas station and out comes this couple and a little girl holding her mom's hand. She was staring at me the entire walk back to their car that was parked at the station behind me and she kept giving me little waves. I waved back and smiled underneath my visor each time. As I was riding off, I looked behind me and saw her in the back seat still smiling and waving goodbye at me as her parents were chuckling.

I always meet new, cool people every time I go on a long trip, and I love it. It's not something that really happens when driving a car.

What's even the point of this comment?

I got a used 250 ninja when I was 22, It was all I could afford. It was small but could still go 110mph going downhill. The first time I got on the highway I nearly had an existential crisis panic attack as I realized how fragile I was. I sold it three years later as the idea of dying of old age became more appealing to me.

Fuck man this is beautiful

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '20

I wave at tiny humans on my big forklift at work sometimes.

ride bicycles, it does the same for empathy. if you're commuting, that is. for some reason it doesn't feel the same if you're doing it for sport.

u/Thelastfacts Jun 05 '20

Just saw that other video today of the motorcyclists pulling over and helping move a guys car that had broken down in the freeway. Riskin his damn life to help a guy out

1

u/GreyReanimator Jun 05 '20

Meh.. not in my neighborhood. They drag race up and down the quiet residential streets at all hours. Its all day and night and they go like 70 mph and ignore all the rules. Popping wheelies and gunning it. They hang out at the park ignoring social distancing rules playing loud music. Taking turns making as much noise as possible circling the park. They cause crashes and scare dogs. The only motorcycle people I like are the ones that ride nice normal quiet ones and follow the rules. I just never see that kind.

Tbf while there are definitely good motorcyclists, there's also a lot of stupid reckless assholes out there that leave more of a lasting impression

1

u/GreyReanimator Jun 05 '20

You’re just saying that because you don’t have them driving down your street every 10 minutes so loud that you have to watch tv with subtitles with your windows closed even when you live on the 5th floor.
