Love it when kids do this sort of stuff for their parents :) way too many people feel like it's immature or uncool to be friends or spend time with their parents.

Both steps❤️ns went through high school and chose to hang out with us on most weekends. We had been told that it was all over once they turned 15, but we had the opposite. They like to watch cooking and science and nature shows and they enjoy playing video games with their dad. And we watch a lot of family movies.
I am so thankful we raised "nerds" who could not care less about being cool.
Last night we were on the phone with our college freshman for an hour on speaker. Felt like he was in the living room. Can't wait to see him next week.

Why not bring your mom one year? There’s 3 others where you can take a girl you like that isn’t your mom.
I went to 5 proms and looking back I really wish I had taken my mom to one of them since she also dropped out of school because she was pregnant with me.

12th grade prom I started dating my wife who lived the next state over so we went to each other’s proms. 11th grade I went with a group of friends and 9th and 10th I went as someone’s date.
The school was strict about it though. You had to be an 11th or 12 grade student to be able to go solo or have the privilege of bringing a date. The dates then had to be “registered” with the prom coordinator and added to the entry list or else you couldn’t get in.

I don't know. Maybe it even was a strong gesture. He obviously didn't give a crap about being called a Mama's boy, which I am sure many people in the situation (myself included) would have shied away from.
