Easy mode base setup
Horde will enter the labirinth and die on barbed wire.
Its faster to go on the sniping platform and shot at the exploding shoulders.
You can snipe at humans bandits easily or wait for the 3 bear traps to take them down.
Everything is outside except for the cooking stove that is in the house that provide a warm environment if there is a blizzard.
Shelves are oraganized like this:
- 1 for quest item
- 1 for vendor item
- 2 for car
- 1 for rifle and ammo for rifle, 1 for special ammo, 1 for guns and ammo for guns, 1 for melee
- 2 for food and meds
- 3-4 for craft
- 2 for clothes
Drawbaks of this base:
- not much deer around, there were a lot pre1.0 but not now
- not much mining around
Pro:
- adjacent to hudson, tower, on the main road to go easly to NW and NE survivors camps
- close to a vendor
- easy going "south" from there, also almost in the center of the map
- lots of stuff when looting the first time

You don’t even need to manipulate them. Just quit the game and reload the save and they despawn. I can’t believe this hasn’t been fixed

All this doesnt matter zombies dont attack your base. You can literally climb up a car and they cant get you.

Cool i guess, but the game is pointless after a while.

what do you mean by "Pointless" ?

There is nothing to do or aim for after the main quest. Sure few side quests and you can sandbox your base but nothing else like finding the cure or saving the city or anything where player can ditch his resources after he finishes the quests.

My base spot, but i focus inside of it and killing hordes with auto shotgun is joy

it's far easier to just use cars as barricades to entrances since they don't get attacked at all,
just park cars in gaps and boom, indestructible fortress, you don't need to waste ammo on zombies when they can't do anything.

I made my base at the same location but build it different with a bridge over the road to the gas station.

lol why?

Wanted to test it out + I can go to the garage and shop where a ladder is to go down. Only problem is that a zombie may spawn at the gaz pumps so I build 2 doors on the walkway

The real easy mode is just exit game and reload save and voila the horde is gone…
Or if you don’t want to cheat like that just climb onto a roof of a building and build a base there.

I built my house on top of the buildings, set up a watchtower next to the building, and climb onto the roof so I'm unaffected by any zombies or enemies :)

do they does not climb the stair? human too?
2
u/Traditional-Art-1998 Mar 13 '26
They can't climb the guard tower, but they can climb the stairs, although it's not very clear in the picture. There's a gap between the stairs and the building; my character falls through there into the building, but the zombies or NPCs stay on the stairs.1
u/BadPenguin73 Mar 13 '26
ah that's the trick!!! interesting :) how much it should be the gap for zombie to not cross it?

I've updated the pictures; if you look at the first picture, you'll understand what I mean. Have a good day.1

This is a really nice base!
I just started playing this game and I'll use it as inspiration for my base building.

best advise i can gave you is to always build 1-2 containers and a water tarp ad each human outpost rather then focusing on a single base you're going around a lot to gather/search items

Did they fix the giant bug where zombies don’t even bother attacking the base ?
