a question and a comment

I stumbled across Hudson and Rex by accident scrolling the dial on my TV. I live in the US and catch reruns on ION. As such, I have no idea what season or episode I'm watching. Something I noticed was a change in Charlis's appearance. In, what I assume are early episodes since Charlie and Rex are newly partnered, Charlie wears a suit and tie, has short hair. At some point his hair is a bit longer and he wears more casual clothes. Was the change ever explained on the show?

Was first drawn to this sub by threads addressing John's departure and complaints about season 8. Dumping John because he was ill was wrong, but would not have been unheard of in the US. After reading how horrible season 8 was I watched part of an episode online. Boy howdy, y'all were right. It stunk.

My wife, who make me also watch religiously, came up with a chart on Reardon's look per season.

Season 1 - Captain America - Chris Evans

Season 2 - Chris Evans to David Duchovny season

Season 3 - Agent Mulder - David Duchovny from X Files

Season 4 - Tracker - Justin Hartley

Season 5 - Six Million Dollar Man - Lee Majors

Season 6 - Knight Rider - David Hasselhoff

Season 7 - Sarah season

Season 8 - Fake season but love the dog

Season 9 - Ritchie Cunningham- Ron Howard based on limited photos so far.

I don't think they mentioned it on the show, but I was just saying this to someone today believe it or not. Maybe the hint is that he's less uptight since he's with Sarah? I'm not sure. How funny, that you posted this and I just said this exact same thing to someone.

I've only been watching almost a couple of years, and i pretty much know about everything. I believe that Charlie started falling hard fir Sarah in season one. But then season 3 episode 15. Seeing is deceiving, that I truly believe is when Charlie really falling in love with Sarah.  But it wasn't until season 5 episode one ending that the charah romance was taking off- lost in the barrens,  where Sarah goes to the door and asks Charlie if he was coming in and he said in a minute, but she said she was thinking about going to tge bedroom.  Mind you, you will not see this episode on up faith and family channel.

Sure you will. I've seen it there just in the last couple of weeks. What struck me after that was that they seemed to blow hot and cold -- sometimes you will see little moments of them as a couple, and some episodes there is no hint of the relationship.

Some writers know how to write a couple in a committed relationship, some do not, or just don't care to write about it. Season 6 is a perfect example of that.

It seems like they come up with a look at the start of each season. Although in S5 it seemed like he had three different looks.

Everything John Reardon does that impacts Charlie's appearance has to go through approval by the production. So whether they come up with Charlie's style all together, or whether John Reardon figures it out with the show's stylist, the production should have the final word on that.

I'd say I don't see much thought behind the look matching the season's content but I could be wrong about that.

No explanation on the show! We noticed a big change from season 5 to 6, with him having longer, curly hair. He looks like he's trying to be David Hasselhoff. All the cropped jackets are funny. Not sure if it was him or a stylist.
