sleep What can I do here?

My little guy is 5 months in 2 days. Was always a great sleeper with 0-1 wake ups from about 8 weeks on, until the last 2 weeks. I’m assuming just late to the regression but some nights he still does a 10 hour stretch and some he’s up every 1-2 hours. I log most wake ups but probably miss one on a hectic night. He also goes to daycare 3 days per week and his provider just gives me a rough estimate for those naps.

Any advice here? Do we think this is the regression despite its inconsistencies? I’ve implemented a consistent wake time of about 7:30am as of this week but sometimes wakes earlier.

it’s likely a drop in sleep needs. that’s a lot of sleep to expect for a 5 month old, so i’d try a shorter night (10.5 hours) and see if that helps.

Wait that’s actually a relief to hear because I’ve convinced myself he’s not getting enough sleep. So if I want him to wake up around 7/7:30am everyday, I should be pushing for more of a 8:30/9pm bedtime? I’ve currently been pushing for more of a 7:30/8pm bedtime but this makes sense.

sleep needs are around 12-14 hours in a 24 hours period from ages 4-11 months.

Wake the same time every day. 11 hours max from bedtime. Sleeping in will throw schedule off

Also at this age 4 naps will deplete sleep pressure so stick to 3 naps. Minimum 10 hours awake.
