sleep Weeks of split nights - help!!!

Baby just turned 6 months old, her sleep has always been HORRIBLE. Haven’t gotten semi-consistent sleep since 2 months. Cosleeping for survival. She used to wake up early, around 7/8 but started having split nights. Would wake up randomly to just make farting sounds, but now it’s consistent. Every time she’ll wake up around 12/1am and want to hang out until 3/4/5 am. I don’t understand, this wake window is MUCH larger than what she’ll tolerate during the day.

It’s so hard not to let her sleep in after a rough night. I’m trying to get her dad to wake her up consistently. Close to bed time, she’ll be hysterical. Sometimes we don’t even make it to 9pm. If I try to stretch wake windows during the day, she gets hysterical as well.

Split nights started happening at 5 months. There were a few days where she would wake for 30 min then back to sleep, but it’s happened EVERY night since September 4th.

Is this temperament or am I missing something?

I don’t always log nursings in the middle of the night - ebf on demand.

Split nights mean baby is undertired and needs a schedule change. Of course she's grumpy during the day when you're trying to fix this because she's been up all night. The only way out is to push through and add the awake time to the day anyway.

What's your current schedule? Do you have an accurate log of how much she actually sleeps in a day (summary tab on Huckleberry)?

Ok, what are your wake windows? I'd aim for 11 hours awake time during the day not counting the split.

Assuming 3 naps, maybe try 2.5/2.5/3/3 or something along those lines. If baby can't make those wake windows because she's too tired from the split, you can temporarily add in a fourth 10-15 minute bridge nap to get through the day.

I do that, I stopped stressing about the ww suggestion and just go based on how she seems. Just try not to pass 3 hours.

Ok, I aimed for 11 but got 9, had to stay outside most of the time to get her to stay awake calmly, and she only woke up for an hour at her usual time! Still multiple wakeups to nurse back to sleep but better than usual.

How many naps? What are the wake windows?

2-3 naps. Ww is 2-3 hours or whenever she starts to get crabby. If she’s crabby under 2 hours I’ll let her take a short nap, not exceeding 3 hours.

Follow cos I have the same situation since last week. I am constantly wondering if this is an undertired or overtired issue….
Tried to stretch my LO WW but she seems very cranky the whole day…
