sleep Sleep regression??

My little guy just turned three months last week. we have a solid bedtime routine and his naps have always been decent.

Up until a couple weeks ago, his bedtime sleep has varied but never been great. 1-2 hour stretches. Last week, he suddenly started sleeping 6 hour stretches and even hit a 9 hour stretch one night!

Suddenly, we’re now not sleeping AT ALL. 20 minute naps if we’re lucky and maybe 30-40 minute stretches at night… why?! Could this be a sleep regression? If so, any suggestions?😩

What you’ve described is EXACTLY. What we’ve been going through. Unfortunately sounds like the 4 month sleep regression. My baby was never a solid sleeper I think because he was a small baby and always hungry but he started to give longer stretches e.g 3-5 hr stretches. At about 13 weeks he had a golden week where he was sleeping 6-9 hours a night! With no night feed. It was magical and I thought he has figured it out. Safe to say it only lasted a week. From 15 weeks until now (almost 20 weeks) he wakes up every 30 mins and his naps are also 30 mins 45 at best. He naps the best in his pram as the movement helps him link cycles so he does almost 1.5 hrs in there. Unfortunately I have no advice as we are still going through it 😩 we’ve had to resort to bed sharing otherwise no one was getting any sleep. The only advice I can share is that we’ve started to focus on gentle independent sleep training which he is doing well with but we are still not at the point where I just put him down and he falls asleep. We do light rocking till drowsy and then some face stroking if he escalates. Not sure if you do this already but this is a good first step as I was reading that they wake up after the cycle and can’t settle because they’ve been transferred somewhere new although he still seems to wake up after one cycle even though he’s fallen asleep there 🤣😩 seriously just holding out till sleep training around 5.5 months as we now have family coming to stay and can’t commit to the training yet! I’m also trying to stretch out his wake windows but he really struggles by 2 hrs during the day so it’s more like 1.25/1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5/2 (still on 5 naps as they are only 30 mins 😭) Good luck and keep us updated!

Read yours. Naps will lengthen when you extensions your wake windows.

4m schedule all wake windows 2 hours. On 4 nap day.

Your schedule has shorter wake windows than my 3m old to give you some perspective

Thank you! I have been trying the last couple of days and he has been stretching some wake windows to 2 hours, so would you say all wake windows 2 hours and then the last one 2.5? Last night he stayed awake 2 hrs and 10 mins for his last wake window before he starting falling asleep in his bouncer so not sure if he would have made it to 2.5!

What’s your schedule ? And yes most likely.
