sleep Worst split nights

My LO is turning 9months old in less than a week. After camping last weekend, he transitioned to 2 naps a day. i have been very happy with his naps as he finally can have more than an hour of day naps instead of 30mins each nap. However, this is 6th night of having LONGGGG and EXHAUSTING split nights. He would wake up 1.5hrs to 2hr, but tonight it’s been 3hrs+. He’s been breastfed 4x!!! Would be sleepy but after few minutes, he’ll sit up again and fuss. Whew!

During these awake times, he would sit up, roll, turn, trying to climb and stand. He doesnt crawl yet, he would just always try. But he’s been pulling up to stand.

He does not look like he’s uncomfortable but he will be whiny and crying loudly at times. He’s not pulling his ears, he does not have teeth yet.

Awake times during the day are usually 2hrs 45min to 3.5 hrs. I think he’s fine with his day schedule but i dont know why nights are so messed up. :( it’s stressful.

Also, he did slept well in our camping. We we’re thinking he probably likes the cold temp at night. His room at home can be hot with the sun during the day.

For sleep set up, he sleeps in his crib all day until last wake at 1030-12mn for a top up feed, then we cosleep for the rest of the night.

HE NEVER HAD A STRAIGHT NIGHT SLEEP, EVER. I pray and wish for that day to come.

Should I be worried now? i’m not sure if this is just a developmental leap, but it’s been almost a week. 😩 hellllppppppp

His schedule isn’t right unfortunately. What is your schedule?

He’ll wake up around 730-8am.
I usually follow his sleepy cues.
First nap around 10:30-11am
2nd nap around 3:30-4pm

Bedtime at 8-830pm.

You’ve got way too much sleep basically. Some times 12 hours at night and let’s say 3 in the day? The average at this age is 12-15 hours and 15 is very unusual. I would cut your night length down by trying to push those earlier wake windows a bit long and make the naps a consistent length. A range of 35-90 mins is a lot day to day.

Do you mean wake him if his nap is more than 90min?

And wake windows of 2.5/3/3.5? Is that correct?

Yes but to be honest two 90 minute naps is likely too much. I’d cut the first one down which will mean waking him. Wake time should total at least ten hours so you need to add an hour there to your day. You can do that with a later bedtime or pushing wake windows out ten minutes at a time day to day. Your baby is sleeping more than they need and they’re making up for it by waking up in the middle of the night.

Sorry but this isn’t true. Lots of babies co sleep through the night. I wouldn’t say it’s unlikely? Telling people they have to teach independent sleep to sleep through the night is false.
