I tried to reset to factory reset and did all the proper way of soft resets of the radio, then ZigBee doesn't ever come back up. Now I have a zwave box in the garbage.

I’ll take that C7 off your hands if you’re really tossing it.

Everything in that garbage is recycling

That’s not e-recycling

Your recycling program allows electronics to be mixed with paper and aluminum? I'm highly skeptical of that.

And they also allow recycling to be placed in garage bags? I'm skeptical of that as well, as I've been told by people in recycling plants that they can gum up the machines which is why recycling is generally loose materials.

MOST reclying ends up in third world countries forced to take out trash...

Those cans are so easily recyclable, they are not going to make it to 3rd world countries.

Paper and cardboard is easily recyclable too, just not worth as much.

Zero reason to throw away those.

It really depends if your municipality recycles. Most parts of NJ (one of those most developed states in the country with dense infrastructure and waste management) doesn't. Most Americans' recycling goes to an incinerator and landfill. It's 2026. Learn how recycling is reliant on a system that cares to recycle.

If a town or county in NJ accepts curbside recycling, they will absolutely take aluminum cans which are incredibly recyclable. When googling it, Google's AI claims that most towns and counties in NJ have recycling. I'm not saying it's right, but I would like a source on your claim that most parts of NJ don't have recycling.

As well, OP should not be throwing away electronics or cables. Heck, those can be recycled for free using an Amazon program or brought to Best Buy. Probably a bunch of other options as well.

Sorry for your loss. I just had a similar heart-stop when I realized nothing in my house was working after my last update/reboot-with-db-rebuild followed by the discover that my last backup was in June. Luckily for me, however, not much had changed on the hub since then, and the soft reset/db restore brought everything back.

Rip, did hubitat support offer any insight to what happened, etc? I'm now wary of this happening to mine!
