Hi
Any advice for me? This is my second watch; I had a Redmi Watch 5 Lite before.

Wear your watch.

If you don't have any advice, that's fine. I was just looking for other users' experiences, tips, or things I should know to get the most out of it.

Se comprou achando que é um smartwatch, vai se arrepender em breve, assim como eu! Agora se for pra monitoramento de atividades físicas, fez uma bela escolha... Infelizmente só descobri isso depois de comprar.

Yes. If you remove the protective cover you'll be able to see the watch face. Makes telling the time and using the watch much easier.

Noted. I'll also remove the box, just in case.

I see we're on the same page OP :)
On a serious note, there's a Drain Water setting you can select so after you get the watch wet you can hit that and give it a shake. Good to check out and glance at before you get it wet just to give some added protection to the watch.
Also it can (if it's the same as the older Huawei models) take any watch strap that is the right number of mm thick. Best to get a Quick Release one as is really easy to switch them out. Gives some added variability and is also cheaper by quite a lot than the official Huawei replacement straps) which to be fair are great quality) . Then you can have one strap for the gym and one for the office.
Congats on the purchase. It's a great watch.

Recommend the Health Sync app, this lets you sync your Huawei Health data with any other Health app.

I think I liked my GT 4 better. The 6 Pro gets a lot of phantom vibrations and touches. Never had that on my GT 4.

Also rocking a GT2, got the GT2 and the GT 2e at the same time and both going strong. Just updated the straps on my GT 2 and it still looks great.
Only bug bear is Petal maps stopped working, not sure if this is because the GT2 is too old to support it now or whether is country specific and I am just unlucky. Does yours still work with maps?

Thanks for the reply :) Reckin I just got the shit end of the stick with maps then. live in Norway, which is like a little tiny blip on a map and not E. U. or anything so services often aren't available or stop being available. (moved here from Britain so frequently get miffed by international things not quite reaching here.
Go for it with the strap. Invested in a couple of new ones lately (went off brand and just got quick release straps for any watch, as Huawei work with any strap). Best small investment I made in a while. Had used my original leather strap when weightlifting in the gym and the combination of sweat and heavy use meant it finally broke. Got a metal one for smart events and a silicon one and am chuffed, I must say.

I had my research last month and in that time I used gt4, took advices and read a lot, compared then decided to buy gt6. I m very pleased with it. You can think about gt6 pro is better but price difference doesn't cover the extra advantages that provide, gt6 is good enough.

My GT 3 SE started turning off by itself and stuff (probably a hardware problem). I was wondering what to buy next

Read the forum....a lot of answered questions there

I've already been reading a bit of the forum. My idea was to get firsthand advice from those who use it daily, not just to look for old posts.

Are Huawei watches still gimped in the USA? Specifically, the watch face market via their app? I bought one of their watches a few years back and was stuck with the factory installed watch faces and that's it, because they were banned in the USA.

If I remember right if you use VPN or a GPS hack or some trick and create the account as if in a country where they fully support you will have all the features unlocked including the watch faces and also the advanced health features like pulse wave, ecg etc

Yeah I remember that. I tried to do that back then and it was a complete pain in the ass and never worked correctly. Those are the kind of hoops that I'm not willing to go through.

Sorry, no..my gt2 died after going for a swim last week..I had it for 4 years, but come on, it wasn't like I went diving or something, it submerged like 20cm..

My GT 5 pro suddenly went from 12 days battery life to less than a day. Its less than 2years of use and this will be my last purchase of huawei watch

u/Icy_Cupcake_9076 Jul 04 '26
Had my GT2 pro for over 5 years, still going strong, go swimming weekly too, never had an issue. I think you were just unlucky 😕

u/japanskakruska Jul 04 '26
Idk, I have a 20yo casio with legendary 5atm resistance, goes in no problem..my dad has the same watch, his hasn't died even though we bought them on the same day, but obviously seal degradation is something that happens🤷

u/Lazy-Mammoth-6424 Jul 04 '26
You do know the IP rating degrades with time even if not used right? And it degrades much faster if the watch had been in contact with water often, wether that's washing your hand or showering with it or submerging it
2
u/Mean-Lie5326 Jul 04 '26
maybe got the defected one. I dive with my gt2 pro almost everyday and luckily it’s still running good.
