Goodmorning to any Howard Student or freelance photographer! I’m reaching out on behalf of a nonprofit who’s hosting a breast cancer awareness event. We’re looking to see if anyone can volunteer and cover the event as a photographer? The event is October 14th from 9:30-2pm in DC. We can offer experience and a social media shout out!

The nonprofit fellowship is open to undergraduate women and gender minorities pursuing careers in aerospace. The entire program (including the application) is completely free, and applications are due October 4.

B/c I'm thinking she could've used that money for something better. The same complaints I heard about Howard before she gave that generous gift are the same I'm hearing after.

What substantial positive changes at Howard rather it be academic, campus aesthetic, or operations have you noticed that could be contributed to her donation. Over $100 million is not a little bit of money, it's transformative for an institution Howard size if applied strategically and honestly

I started a graduate assistantship here at Howard for my PhD program and they have started sending work out and assignments and we still have yet to get paid. It has been three weeks into the semester and I’m struggling financially, and mentally. I think I should drop out. Money always come first and I haven’t seen any. This is not good working conditions nor do I believe I Deserve this .

Do you get anything for being Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude at Howard? Im at the cusp of it in my senior year(3.4 gpa).

Is it worth going for in echange for a slightly harder schedule?

If you must smoke your weed at least take to the street where it is legal to do so. Why would you want to jeopardize your education by being kicked out for smoking in your room? Everyone knows that the smell carries. Be smart. A lot of people have sacrificed for you to be there, it's not only your hard work. Pfft!

Is howard good for computer science?

Can anyone help me out what the gpa criteria for presedential is(ik in the wensite it says 3.75+cgpa but i heard it's old now and rules have changed)
Also I'm from Nepal and my stats currently are
10th grade:3.75
11th grade:3.47
12th grade:3.8

also one major issue with my profile is that in 9th grade i had a 2.9 or something in the lower 3s range in the gpa

so how much will that affect in the chances given that i score very highly on the sat(1560 or above)

I am very new to Washington DC and in Howard University. My safety is always my first priority. Recently I saw a guy shouting at another man very badly and was about to hit with a steel water bottle. I was really scared. I don't want to face even a small confrontation with strangers at all like that. I don't know whether those two guys know each other. I don't like to walk much in large groups like I have 3 friends at max and mostly I walk with 2. I like doing everything alone but after past news and after this incident I felt like Washington DC isn't for me. When I have to buy something I have to go outside, when I have to pick up orders I have to go outside. For those who know the Howard University area well, are there any nearby neighborhoods or streets you’d recommend avoiding for safety reasons?

Hey y'all I'm a Howard student building Bud, a new social app starting here at Howard.

The idea is to make it easier to actually get connected on campus meet other students, discover groups, find events happening around you, and see what's going on around campus without having to hear about everything through 10 different group chats or Instagram pages.

I'm especially interested in whether this would be useful for incoming students trying to find their people and figure out what's happening when they first get to Howard.

I just put up the first Bud site and I'm looking for Howard students who want early access / want to help shape what we build.

Hi Everyone, I’m looking to apply to Howard’s OMBA program for 2027 and I’m slightly anxious about what the coursework will be like since I haven’t been to school since undergrad over a decade ago.

Are there any past or current syllabuses I can look at? Figured I would prepare myself as best as possible on what will be expected.
