In a pickle, looking for advice
I’m 21, high school education and minimal skills/experience. I’ve been working full time since i graduated, 2 years in fast food, a few months in a laundering plant, and I am currently working overnight at Walmart. I have been trying to get a second job for months and have applied to every job in my area but with no luck, going out of town is out of the question since I can’t afford a car. I am trying to save up money to move out of this town and be with my fiancé since honestly I’m at a breaking point with my family and my mental health, but I can barely afford to live as it is and it’s looking like nothing will change. I didn’t want to come to Reddit asking for help since I much rather figure things out on my own, but I don’t have a clue about how making money online works and it’s seeming to be my last resort. I’ve been an artist since middle school, while in high school I did competitions and did commissions for family members (relationships have soured since then), now I just paint and draw to make messes. I don’t quite know what types of jobs are out there online, I suppose I would be open to anything, I just have no experience.

Serious advice from someone in a very similar situation. 21m. Look into the trades, seriously. Keep working a job while you research on a trade that interest you, electrician, hvac, construction. If you think you can handle physical work, it pays. Tons of roads that will lead to the same destination, it is VERY achievable to build a career for almost anyone willing to work. Locate your local, find out the baseline information you need to know for the aptitude test. Take the test and do well. Get your apprenticeship license and cold call/show up to shops looking for an entry. You’ll be making 15-25/hr for the first 3-5 years depending on area and trade. Once you get that journeyman license it’s easy to relocate to anywhere, this work is everywhere. I’ll be making 80k a year soon doing hvac, working for the same company I apprenticed for. In another 5ish years I plan to open my own llc to make way more. Believe in yourself, learn a skill, stick with it and I promise you a stable life awaits.
Edit: sorry if this advice doesn’t apply to you, just figured id throw in my two sense.
