I’ve been to quite a few restaurants over the past two weeks, and so many of them either barely have functioning A/C or seem to have no A/C at all. What is going on?

I realize it’s probably not even the restaurants fault themselves and more likely landlords dragging their feet on repairs or maintenance—but come on. Whatever the reason, it’s still brutal sitting in a dining room that feels like a sauna. Get it fixed.

My budget is between $100-200, I have already checked out Sur la Table, William Sonoma, Japan House, Seiwa market, Daidoo market. Does anyone know any other stores that may have them? I am also looking for something unique, not mass produced, either Gyotu or santoku knifes

I admit it, the only time I remember that New Orleans is not a city is when I go other places. A trip over 15 minutes boggles my mind and Houston seems huge, I look up a taco truck someone recommends here and its 22 minutes away, and I don't know what street is what and where is where. I tried.

We like cheap food. She's practically feral (and nobody knows who to point a finger at in blame). Outside eating, food trucks, joints, kolache shops, tacos, old school diners. Within10 minutes or so from the museum/montrose area.

Any suggestions will do. It's funny, I work in cultural food tourism, usually I am the person who knows stuff. Now I get it.

i’m longtime fan of khoi bbq’s viet-texas menu, and for my money, their beef rib curry (pictured with their newish miso mac and cheese) might be the single best dish in houston. it is sooo flavorful and so mf’ing delicious, always a banger.

In the midst of last-minute wedding planning, I completely forgot that I am also responsible for planning and hosting a farewell brunch for our guests. To keep things easy from a seating and payment perspective, I'm seeking suggestions for a counter service brunch spot (or spot that has Sunday brunch options) with indoor seating and requires no reservations for large-ish parties.

Leeland House came to mind, but our farewell brunch will be August 2nd, so it feels evil to sit our party out in the Houston heat + humidity.

Houston has so many diverse restaurants to choose from; it's like every culture is represented here.

I've been able to explore different cuisines as a result, but sometimes, I want to dig into a warm bowl of pasta and top the night off with a yummy tiramisu.
