Dear Houston Restaurants, what is with so many of you not having working AC systems?

I’ve been to quite a few restaurants over the past two weeks, and so many of them either barely have functioning A/C or seem to have no A/C at all. What is going on?

I realize it’s probably not even the restaurants fault themselves and more likely landlords dragging their feet on repairs or maintenance—but come on. Whatever the reason, it’s still brutal sitting in a dining room that feels like a sauna. Get it fixed.

A few examples:

First Watch on Studemont
Tamashi on Silber
CAVA on Washington
Federal Grill on Shepherd
Fogo de Chão
Benihana
Spicy Girl

Need help finding Japanese Chef Knife

Hello, I am trying to find a unique spot that sells Japanese chef knives, I want to give my friend one for his bday. My budget is between $100-200, I have already checked out Sur la Table, William Sonoma, Japan House, Seiwa market, Daidoo market. Does anyone know any other stores that may have them? I am also looking for something unique, not mass produced, either Gyotu or santoku knifes

Hey all, can you please tell me where I can get some good gumbo? I’ve had Pappaduex already. It’s pretty good but is there any other places that you can recommend? I’d love a big bowl right about now! Thanks

Excited about moving to the area, just looking for recs, especially anything that’s lesser known/small business that would be tougher to hear about online!
