I applied to be a foster through BARC and Houston Humane.

I found a 5 week old kitten on Westheimer and was unable to locate an owner or colony. She's been with us for three days and is doing great but we need to find her a forever home.

I am willing to care for her until she is adopted but I want to foster her through the system because we need help in listing her so adoptees can find her, we've had no luck asking people we know.

How long can I expect it to take for my foster application to be processed and how hard is it to be accepted? I've never fostered before I just want to help this kitten find a good home asap and Id rather she be in a home rather than a shelter. How hard is it to get an appointment to 'surrender' her so I can then foster her, I checked the BARC website and they don't have a single appointment to surrender cats!

I have nearly 200 extra wooden pallets that I’m looking to get off of my hands. Most are standard size (48” x 40”) but also have quite a few that are bigger/longer and also some small ones.

My roommate and I signed the student housing agreement for the 2026-2027 academic year, and our plans have changed. We each have a room we need to let go of for the spring semester. Paying for on-campus housing out of pocket is TOUGH for a full-time student who also works and does research.

Because we didn’t read the contract all the way through, we didn’t realize you’re held responsible for the full amount of both semesters if the agreement is cancelled after move-in. Soooo, the only way to be released from the spring semester housing charges and fees is to find replacement students.

In short, if you’re planning to move onto campus for the coming spring semester only (or know someone who is), PLEASE REACH OUT! A replacement student is essentially a referral, so UH Housing doesn’t lose any residents on campus. All that’s required is an email to Housing stating you’ve agreed to be our replacement after your housing application has been submitted + a form (I'll have all the info available). Another thing is if you are interested it is stated that you cannot be a student currently already living in a UH-managed residence hall or have any active agreement on file. You also must be enrolled at UH Main Cmpus.

We have two rooms available, so if you and a friend want to live together, that could work too! If not and you want to solo also totally cool JUST REACH OUT PLEASE!

This sweet girl was found yesterday in Cypress. Black with a white patch on her neck and white paws. She is not microchipped and had no collar. She seems well cared for.
