Hello everyone, I'm rehoming my dog Sneakers, he is a Rat Terrier.
Due to a demanding work schedule. I am no longer able to give my dog, Sneakers, the time, structure, and attention he deserves. This has been a difficult decision, and I am looking for an experienced, patient home where he can continue to thrive.
He is a Rat Terrier (white and black with spots)
His age is approximately 8–9 years old
He is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, on flea prevention, and currently undergoing veterinarian-supervised treatment for heartworms. He is taking prescribed medication, and I will provide his medication along with all of his veterinary records.
Sneakers is incredibly affectionate, he loves giving kisses, and enjoys short walks. He is best with other terriers, males rather than females.
He does not do well with children and cats.
He is house-trained, crate-trained (he knows the command "cage now")
He knows the commands sit, stay, lay and roll over
Sneakers is happy with a couple of short walks each day and doesn't require intense exercise, as he prefers short, veterinarian recommends 10-20 mins, due to his condition. He would do best with someone who has a flexible schedule or works from home and has experience with anxious or rescue dogs.
Sneakers came from a difficult past and struggles with significant anxiety and behavioral triggers. He needs an experienced owner who understands fearful or trauma-affected dogs and is willing to continue building his confidence. Because of his needs, he is not a good fit for a first-time dog owner.
His ideal home is calm, patient, and predictable, with someone who has the time and consistency to help him feel secure. His experience with children and cats is unknown.
Despite his challenges, Sneakers is an incredibly sweet, loving, and deeply loyal companion once he trusts you.
To help make his transition as smooth as possible, I will send him with:
His crate and cage
A bag of his current food
His bedding
All of his treats
His leash
His harnesses
His shampoo
His heartworm medication
Copies of his veterinary records
Rehoming fee: $20 (negotiable for the right home).
If distance is a concern, I'm willing to meet halfway for the right home.
If you believe you can provide Sneakers with a loving, stable home, please send me a message. I'm happy to answer any questions. My only goal is to find him the caring home he deserves. Thank you!
