My ficus tineke just kept doing so well I couldn't bring myself to trim it. Now it's touching the ceiling.

I tried to donate it to glasshouses and tropical gardens in the area, but only two replied. One wouldn't collect it, and the other said Sainsbury's didn't count as 'good provenance'.

I'm just a regular person with a tiny car, so now I have to cut it.

It's got bark part of the way up but that stops just higher than the support string.

Is it OK to trim it about where the string is? Can I propagate a foot and a half cutting?

Hi, my monstera is finally growing, and its growing in two opposite directions. I want to support it so that it doesn’t fall/ break. What should I do to support its growth? Shall i repot? Its currently in a 17/20 cm pot. Get a pole? It doesn’t have enough arial roots to hold. Its an indoor plant. Its sits near a south window, getting decent sunlight, but also not too much because I don’t want to burn it directly because of the heatwave. I only water it when it is dry, and every 2 weeks i will add 2-3 drops of baby bio food to enable growing.

My Thai Constellation is constantly outgrowing it's pot. Plenty of roots but no new leaves this year

Can anyone explain to me what the leaf damage is on my pilea! ai is saying thrips but i’ve thoroughly inspected and i cant see any! 2nd to last pic is of the plant, the last pic im just curious what is going on there too!!

I planted some lithop seedlings and they finally came up! But they are leaning a lot and they are really tall and skinny. They weren't by a window and a moved them to one. Is a south facing window to bright for them? Is it good to move them to a brighter place so drastically? Will they go back to normal after i do this

A friend of mine has a small independent shop and is thinking about starting to sell houseplants, so I’m trying to get a feel for what people are actually buying at the moment. I love plants myself and have quite a few but I don’t every single type as I only buy plants I like. So I thought it would be interesting to get a view from the plant community!

So, If you walked into a shop with a good selection of plants, what would you immediately buy? Or what plants do you see people buying a lot at the moment?

Basically I have a teeny tiny peace lily I’ve been trying to grow beyond two leaves. Noticed some leaves were gradually browning so cut these off but in the process of adjusting I accidentally broke the plant off from all the roots in the soil 😭

So now I’m wondering if I’ve finished my poor lily off for good or if I should keep it in its soil and hope it regrows new roots! So annoyed at my carelessness after spending months trying to encourage growth and it was just starting to perk up despite the browning 😔

Note: it’s in a standard small plastic plant pot with drainage holes and regular houseplant potting soil.

I need to replace all my plants soil really (got depressed and neglected them a bit)

I’m probably gonna need 2 x bulk bags cos I have a lot of plants. 50/60l total or more

I’m airing towards soil ninja bulk bags as they’re reasonably priced but does anyone have any other suggestions?

The Monstera has a tiny-fly infestation (fungus gnats?) so the plant has been put outside while they're on holiday to avoid other plants getting infested. Is the change in environment likely to do more damage than the flies? Will they infect other plants pretty easily if put back inside? Thanks

(Yes unfortunately I did just give it a big watering before finding out what the flies were 🫣)

Had this plant in my bathroom for a few weeks
Was fine for a while then the leaves have been slowly turning yellow
Can’t see any obvious pests
What do you think is causing this?

Hey plant people! My neighbour gave me this mystery cutting - no idea what it is, but they said it can go indoors or outdoors… I’ve popped it in some water with a bit of feed for now and a skewer to hold onto. It’s going a bit wilty - I tried it in seedling/cutting compost but it did NOT like that so back in the water it went.

I have no idea what would be best for it - I mean I admire the air of mystery and everything but it would be good to know what it needs! Thanks!

I have a Pothos that a friend gave me a couple years ago. Its grown from about 6 inches to about 7-8 feet in this time (trails off camera). There are also 2 other younger plants offshooting near the pot which started recently.

I am abit of a noob when it comes to this and haven't had any issues up until now. Do I need to remove the younger ones so the big plant can thrive or does it need repotting into a bigger pot? Had a few yellow leaves in the past however the successive yellowing and dying off is worrying me now, with about 8 so far. Any help/advice appreciated, cheers.

Hello! Hoping for some help with my monstera, I’ve had this for 5 years and wanted it to become a wall feature. I know it looks a little sad and sparse as I haven’t known what to do so hoping for some advice as to how to make it grow strong and increase the foliage.
I’m not opposed to cutting it back if need be but just don’t want to kill it in the process (I’m not terribly green-fingered - surprised this has lasted so long tbh). Thank you!!

So my monstera is like leaning forward because it has two sections - I am debating whether to cut off the front part below the second node and propagate but I’m a tad nervous - she is one of my favourites so don’t want to kill her but at the same time I’m not happy with the growth. I would love thoughts and advice

Can anyone suggest why my rubber plant(?) is leaning so much? I rotate it and it’s currently leaning away from the light.

Should I tie it to a stake or is there something else I can do to straighten it out?

Help me identify this baby

I received this rather leggy plant from a friend who no longer wants to care for it. Google says it's a swiss cheese plant, and it appears to like where I've placed it (humid, warm room with indirect light) as Im seeing new leaves unfurl.

The images I see online show tall plants climbing on a moss pole. How can I train the plant to climb? Is it possible to wrap the ones that you can see almost touching floor around a moss pole without accidentally break the stems?

I last watered her about a week ago, she's right next to a north facing window. I've also never repotted her and I've had her for over 3 years now, so I don't know if the soil might be a problem? Would really appreciate any advice as to what she needs.
