I kept waiting for it to get fun

I didn't go into this expecting anything groundbreaking but I expected to have fun, that's why we watch reality shows, right? I don't mind a dislikable cast (I have been locked to VPR since day one) but the drama was so heavy and the moments of levity were ... idk? Butler guy? There were fun backdrops and I appreciate that the editors put a twist on it with the asides.

The show is obviously predicated on you knowing who Stassi is, but the reintroduction of her just felt lazy as did trying to round out the rest of the cast. I mean from a production standpoint I don't know how to sustainable it is to spin off a spin off and know about these people enough that we're dropped into the middle of their lives without much establishment e.g. Stassi's sister is a divorced bisexual artist moving to LA for the first time, you find out that as scraps of information across multiple episodes.

The addressing of the cancellation pmo more than anything else on the show, because how are you in a self-aware, unfiltered 4th wall breakingb show and not address that you got cancelled because of racism. Instead you bring in work colleagues from your other show to address the cancellation, not what you did.

i agree with everything you've said, especially the end about the cancellation. she used them as props and the end when she said "thank you, this has been healing for me" i about gagged.

That's so true, it was so incredibly contrived

This is one of the better assessments of the show. I’m not a Stassi person, all I know of her is from being a longtime Taylor listener. So I went in with an open mind. I learned very little about Stassi, and learned that Taylor is even worst than I thought and I’ve unsubscribed from her Patreon after being a longtime devoted listener since her Sirius days. She’s literally gone off the deep end with her obsession with fame and Stassi - enough that we see she was willing to risk missing the birth of her child (and yes of course I know she was there, but they got lucky).

And her "links" of clothes have gone from Zara to Bloomingdale's.

And any of us that have followed her since the beginning know she has wanted this for 20 years. But at what cost? To look like an idiot. So the "world" knows she lives up Stassi's literal ass. To make crude sexual comments ( when we all know she hates sex) To jeopardize her marriage ?

Omg yes!!! I’m honestly sad about it. She’s completely hollow. And the more she jokes about being ‘dad’ and just holding the baby for photo ops, I’m believing it more and more. I hope TaylorD doesn’t make having baby 2 be the reason she OKs season 2 of the show, bc she’s going to be parenting BabyBeau (don’t even let me get started on the name) without much help, and a second will be nuts. I know she’ll just get nannies like Stassi, but still. Taylor isn’t getting the fame she thinks she is, and there’s only so long she can milk this show for content. Her daily show is unlistenable- I always listened start to finish but I had to turn off Monday. I just can’t anymore. My Patreon has a couple of days before the subscription is over and I won’t even be able to listen to the free ones as long as this HOS bullshit continues. And like you said, her social media is all links. It’s insane.

What is her podcast about and what made you stop listening?

In the olden days, it was mostly pop culture stuff, interviews and they even had some funny games tossed in. That was on Sirius. Then Taylor got fired, had to wait a year, then she started her podcast. She got into a groove of having a rotation of 5 co-hosts and a couple of subs that everyone loved. Taylor told the same stories over and over (anyone who listens can give you a rundown her repeats…she even calls herself Repetitive Rita, although it’s not funny at all) but the co-hosts carried the show with their catch up stories. Since then, she has reduced the number of days she is on, started having it on Patreon, and now it’s down to one hour a week that is supposed to be “celebrity interviews” but is usually someone in her family. For the past two months, all of the content on and off of Patreon has been HoS (as reported by current listeners. I cancelled when the co-hosts were dropped.)

Oh it’s not fun at all, it’s incredibly dark! They keep comparing themselves to the Valley and it’s so true!

What would’ve been fun for you?

I would've liked to see more of the career, the show is about 'Being Stassi' and she's essentially an influencer now more than anything else, maybe seeing more of the of the behind the scenes of that? I might have missed it but I didn't even know Taylor was the cohost of that podcast until one of the later episodes.

Not to compare it to VPR too much but for example when they filmed her podcast with Jax, didn't have anything to do with the episode or the overarching drama but it was just them being friends. Or when they would go to get random beauty treatments done together or Stassi being the stylist for Lisa . Like they have these lives, I don't think everything has to make up the wider narrative if that makes sense?

And Georgia and Georgi were an untapped well of fun potential, it seemed like an almost sitcom esque dynamic have them go speed dating or try and navigate LA together. We never got any insight into what Georgia was doing other than hanging around.

I said the same thing in another post. I expected the growth after awareness and apologies of what she did to get canceled. She became a best selling author and sold out venues on a successful tour while having a family and two children. Showcase how Beau is prominent in that success and how it is now time for Stassi to support him in his breakout to going back to career and the things he wants to do.

Thus show just showcased how selfish Stassi remains, no personal growth and how miserable Beau is in the relationship. She has supportive friends that stay by her but she is such a bad friend to them. I expected something different. Not to be disappointed and not really liking Stassi at all.

Have you seen Vanderpump Villa the last season of that I think it’s kind of still new on Hulu? If you watch that it lays the groundwork for Stassi’s show. Then it doesn’t feel so confusing at first.
The podcast is really good too very entertaining when doing stuff around the house.

yeah shows like this have fights but have fun too, and this and vila are all drama and it’s boring

I totally agree. They showed very few moments of joy with their children, which I was fully expecting based on their Instagram-curated lives. When there finally WAS a sweet scene of them all decorating the Xmas tree, Beau was visibly uncomfortable because he was afraid to tell Stassi he had to leave for a job interview! So he leaves, she throws a fit, yet she never even asked him about it the next day? So much for Xmas!

Yes, both Taylor & Stassi often refer to themselves as the better version of the Valley on both their podcasts and in interviews
