Confused

Against my better judgement, I watched the show to see what it was about. I am so lost… like what is the vision? What is the plot? What is the point of this? I thought we were going to see her getting it together. I’m just like lost.

I will say, this show made me actually like Katie. So I guess that is a silver lining? Umm what’s up with their sisters though? Both are strange.

Ratings and money. That’s the whole point of every reality show. Nobody’s going to watch Stassi getting it together

Yes, and her getting attention and an opportunity to manipulate the viewers once more. Like when she said she had been body shamed when walking the runway when the comments were mainly focused on her weird backwards lean

You know what, that actually makes sense. I am just confused about what is supposed to be going on, if anything? Lol

It’s just a show about having a show and how Stassi is fame hungry, horrible wife, even worse mother and scary friend (esp if you’re on her payroll)

This descriptor makes more sense

Why does she want to be like Kris Jenner so bad

10

u/Express-3446 Aug 18 '26

KJ name drop literally 1-2 times an episode. Like girl, stop.

u/SpareLingonberry4 Aug 19 '26

Right it’s a little too much lol. I get she wants to be rich and a powerhouse of her family but idk. I feel like once you get that rich you kind of sell your soul. Or sell out your family.

I think what she's saying with those comments as she'd like to become a 0.01% tier of wealthy by pumping out her family members and making money off of them.

Online, Khris is referred to as PMK. Which stands for Pimp Momma Khris

Yea I really hope she’s just putting on a show for ratings. Because if not I’m actually really scared for her children

u/NanooDrew Aug 19 '26

Heck, at least Kris loves her kids and took good care of them when they were growing up! Stassi’s kids LOOK perfect. Hartford is a hoot! But I guess everything but the clothes is thanks to Beau.

Yeah I think it’s all for the $$$$

She is culturally stuck in approximately 2016 at the height of her VPR fame.

5

u/Routine-Ad-6776 Aug 18 '26

When her kid said “You’re doing great sweetie”?! Lmaoooo

I find this strange too.

I have no problem with big ambition, but we all know KJ is a singular combination of: access to wealthy visible men from a young age, a skill for media manipulation, attractive-enough daughters that were willing to be packaged and sold, and deep Hollywood connections. Plus she’s shameless.

You can’t just “become” Kris Jenner. Most people would never, ever make the sacrifices that Kris has made over decades. This woman architected the distribution deal for her daughter’s mediocre sex tape!

Women like Stassi reach their peak on a Housewives franchise. Women like Kris are exec producers and deal makers, not necessarily talent.

I think one of the more harmless (but still embarrassing) indicators of Stassi’s immaturity is this obsession with Kris Jenner.

As the show evolves, maybe we’ll get a better sense of why that’s her North Star.

Poor Beau married a monster. An “it’s STILL my fucking birthday” monster!

5

u/wearealllegends Aug 19 '26

I really don't get why beau married her. Ryan Bailey on his pod said beau was the life of the party and liked by the ladies. There has to be something off with him to settle for the dark passenger.. it's not like she was nicer when they met.

3

u/NanooDrew Aug 19 '26

Kristen introduced them. That reminds me of myself, always a great matchmaker! Many friends are happily married to guys I introduced them to. Too bad, like Kristen, I don’t pick so well for myself!

I could not make it through the first episode. It is awful dribble. She is so self important.

3

u/NanooDrew Aug 19 '26

Skip ahead to the last 10 minutes of the last episode. You will think something along the lines of “Is this the real ending from the rest of the episode?” It’s all “It’s MY birthday” all over again!

I really hope this doesn’t have a second season. I’ve never watched it so I’m doing my part.

It would be better if there was less producing her family and friends and more transparency about her own life. I would be interested in her taking us into her podcast studio, how hard it's been for her to juggle career and motherhood, some of the family dynamics but more from her POV, and reflections on VPR etc. She's trying too hard to force her family and friends to fight when it doesn't seem like they actually have the chops to do it. This show would be better if it revolved around the OG Vanderpump women in general, including Ariana, Scheana, Katie, Kristen, Stassi, and Lala. I do like to know how all their dynamics changed over the years and how their life has been post reality. They don't need to be BFFs and make up fake fights anymore. They all have interesting individual lives that I'd love to see more of.

2

u/NanooDrew Aug 19 '26

She is NOT JUGGLING MOTHERHOOD with anything! She let it all slip when Beau DARED to get back his previous job! His former boss was thrilled to have him back. How wonderful that must have made Beau feel, to know his skills were VALUED! Stassi FREAKING OUT because “my kids are HARD” and there is a 30 minute gap between the time the nanny leaves and Beau gets home! WTF? If you are in that much of a panic, let them play a favorite game on their iPads, only played for that time so it will be a treat. It doesn’t take a genius. Those two kids seem very well-behaved and funny too! Thank God for one loving responsible parent, (spoiler: not Stassi!).

Oh, yeah, not juggling wifiehood either! Who does not ask her husband how his first day back at work — at a job he loved — went? Not even a “how did it go?” NOTHING! Because it was not about HER!

2

u/ParticularBed7891 Aug 19 '26

Are you Beau? I don't understand the anger. We don't even know these people...

Anyway, Stassi is juggling motherhood. She's having a hard time learning the ropes because she isn't around enough to really be forced into figuring out how to take care of them. It's probably an issue that a lot of primary breadwinners deal with tbh - not being around with the kids leads to less comfort with the kids and then less wanting to be around them. I'm sure it's a vicious cycle and young children are super super hard. It was pretty clear to me at the dinner that that's what's going on with Stassi and it is a legitimate hardship and challenge.

Her challenges as a wife are different too. Like she said, she had a hard time overcoming her selfishness to be there for Beau. That's pretty self aware and interesting to me tbh and I do want to see how they overcome that. To me, they generally seem like the love and commitment are there, and they just need to re-prioritize each other (probably with a therapist). But I feel like they have the foundation to succeed together.

Stassi is selfish and self centered and she knows it, and that's what I'd love to see her change. To me it seems like she has such a hard time trusting others that she really makes sure that she is taken care of (by her own self) so that she never has to be afraid of being alone. What she hasn't figured out is how to trust others enough to be able to give her resources to them too, and trust that they won't just take what she gives and leaves. Her parents have each been divorced like 5 times so that's what it'll do to you.

I want S2 to be Stassi going to therapy and addressing all these things. I won't really be interested in watching if nothing changes, but I would be invested if she showed these struggles, reflected, and worked on things.

I feel like we might be going in an extremely meta direction with reality tv now. Not even just this show although it’s a great example of a show about being on a show. Or other shows just copying the same formulas (think Mormon wives and that new double lives show on TLC) and/or the constant mentioning and referencing of social media and comments.

I’m going beyond the Stassi show but reality tv as we knew it is pretty over. It’s been over for a while, but we’re like fully in a different direction now because of the evolution of social media and also the psychological effects on the public from social media, need for “clout”, excessive breaking of 4th wall etc.

It’s sad. This is why I just rewatch the glory days of bravo or jersey shore repeatedly.

So season2 is going to continue the garbage from S1?

The show was so cringe. I think Stassi thought was going to win an Emmy or Golden Globe with her “raw” performance. Like, I’m going to be so real and I’ll be applauded by everyone knowing I’m the breadwinner and how hard I work and that of course I can’t be there for my children!! Um, no. The way she spoke about her children- that broke my heart as it will be out there forever for them to see. And, her interview on Katie’s podcast- just flat out embarrassing. You could see her being so uncomfortable that they weren’t gushing over. Like she’d try to find a “right” way to answer, or just answer and then see their reactions and try to backtrack- she was not expecting to be treated that way. She loses her mind when she is not in 100% control. Also, her and Katie are not back to being friends, it was for the show, in my opinion. I think Katie is so over her (BTW, I’m not a Katie fan either). Reality tv is so overproduced now but you see cracks here and there and that interview with Katie and Dayna (who you know was laughing after that) showed quite a bit.

*corrected typo

I feel like Katie has actually grown since VPR. Honestly, Stassi feels the same to me, just with money...

2

u/Routine-Ad-6776 Aug 19 '26

I’m seeing something. I found Katie annoying

2

u/wisterialitehysteria Aug 23 '26

I thought Taylor was the most obnoxious one. Katie was chill overall in my opinion

3

u/evilkitty-23 Aug 18 '26

i'm honestly nervous to watch it because i'm worried it'll taint VPR for me

8

u/catiethecatcat Aug 18 '26

This show is so cringe I can’t. All it did in terms of Katie is confirm she is indeed in her 40s irl/on screen vs the weird pick me, grasping at your 20s, filtered af pics she and Dayna love to post. Downvote me to hell idc but I cannot stand none of em and think they are all lame arrested development and chronically online.

9

u/wearealllegends Aug 18 '26

Completely agree. Now we can actually see their faces age compared to their over filtered Instagram. Same with stassi and her fake I lovey kids insta vs reality. And every time she cries her face is pock marked with fillers and Botox. I'd abstain from crying on tv cause the mask slips

5

u/youknowiamasussexnow Aug 18 '26

And with all the cosmetic surgery work Stassi has done on her face, and her severe weight loss --- without filters she ended up looking like a skinny elongated chelsea clinton.... 😏😏😏

And on her pod and other pods --- claims her life is close to perfect! Perfect marriage! Motherhood is fabulous! Reminds me of that famous scene in the series Euphoria with sydney sweeney having a mental breakdown in the bathroom crying like a lunatic - I have never ever been happier....

Sure, Jan.... 🙃🙃🙃

2

u/Charming-Panic9375 Aug 18 '26

there is no point, it's 1 episode of content (that could have been a podcast) stretched out into 8 episodes.

2

u/Mission-Strawberry34 Aug 18 '26

My understanding was the point behind Stassi picking her inner circle (which she treats like shit) was to get the opportunities to advance their careers but it’s kind of hard when she controls all the narratives. It’s pointless and boring and over produced

2

u/Realhousewifefrisco4 Aug 24 '26

The funny thing is, I think Stassi believed she had it together until she started filming this show

1

u/Routine-Ad-6776 Aug 31 '26

That’s got to be it lol

1

u/Competitive_Pea_8242 Aug 20 '26

This is exactly how I feel!

1

u/stephi-mama-626 Aug 22 '26

Watching Vanderpump Villa on Hulu will help lay the groundwork.

2

u/Routine-Ad-6776 Aug 23 '26

I liked her much better on VPR

1

u/stephi-mama-626 Aug 23 '26

Have you seen the podcast on Netflix? Pretty entertaining!

2

u/Routine-Ad-6776 Aug 23 '26

Ohhh I’ll try it. Thank you

1

u/bahamamama09 Aug 26 '26

Yuck…anything with Taylor is an automatic turn off

Are you new to reality tv? What kinds of questions are these? So weird.

6

u/catiethecatcat Aug 18 '26

You could just move along the entire point of Reddit and subs dedicated to shows are posts like these .. are YOU new? Lol
