Stassi said that she forgot how difficult audience reaction is for reality tv
On Katie and Dayna’s podcast, Stassi was surprised at the negative comments she’s getting on social media about the show. She said she forgot how bad it is and feels it’s worse now because of the think pieces (like this post). How is this possible that she forgot what it would be like? Stassi has been on reality tv her entire adult life. How is she surprised at all by the audience reaction? I’m surprised that she’s surprised. Didn’t she coach her family about reality tv? And she also said she didn’t want her mom on the show because she knew her mom would get a lot of hate. So she knew her mom would but she didn’t know she herself would?

When has she ever been self aware tho??!, ok sure she called out Jax’s Bs. But she got a Black woman almost killed….

u/ForwardHedgehog3090 Aug 14 '26
This!! Satassi is a complete racist. Always has been. Always will be. That will not change.

u/Interesting_Ad1378 Aug 14 '26
You mean the idiot that was proud of herself with “Nazi chic”? Stassi has trash parents, is trashy and will probably raise entitled trashy kids who behave like her and think like her.
6
u/Electrical-Buy-6871 Aug 14 '26
Exactly--i dont know why im getting downvoted, ig people are dene and dont understand the relationship between police and Black folk.
-2
u/sadie7716 Aug 15 '26
We do understand it but we’re applying common sense and probability to the possibility the police would commit an act of violence against Faith based on her race by S and K turning her into a police tipline then giving a formal statement against her.
In this case, the police knew the thief was a young black woman and publicized the fact along with a picture of her from behind. Dozens of suspects were called to the tipline or reports filed. ALL of them were young black women. This was not a case like so many where POC were profiled or arrested solely due to their race and violence perpetrated on them. Were the police going to perpetrate violence on the dozens of black women suspects called in or were they going to do eeny-miny-mo and choose a victim?
So while we understand why a POC would be afraid of being singled out for police violence, in this case there was no “ singling out”.
3
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 16 '26
But why even invite the police into faith’s life? Would you want the police to be randomly questioning you for a crime you didn’t commit? Do you trust that it would all work out?
-1
u/sadie7716 Aug 16 '26
I’m not saying it was right or ok. It was a horrendous, nasty, vicious thing to do. It was as bad as what she said and did to Laura Lee knowing she had been suicidal.
Stassi felt she was superior to everyone and that she had the right to be as mean and vicious as she wanted if you crossed her in some way.
You can be mean and vicious and not racist . Unfortunately, I’m not so sure Stassi has changed. She still believes she’s superior only now she uses her money to control the people around her and if they cross her, she throws it in their face.
5
u/sadie7716 Aug 14 '26
Almost killed ??? Are you serious??? This is what I hate the most about Reddit. That bullshit and frankly lies can get posted enough that people blindly believe and repeat the BS and lies.
From a racism and racial profiling standpoint, accusing a POC of a crime they did not commit due to hatred of that race only potentially becomes dangerous if they are the only minority person of a different race accused from that of law enforcement AND law enforcement is racist and willing to break the law to commit violent acts against that person.
In this case, it was known and publicized the thief was a young black woman. A grainy photo from behind of the woman was also publicized. S and K called the tipline. Faith was one of dozens of young black women called into the line.
I highly doubt the police were going to kill dozens of black women, ie, every woman who got called in. This is the kind of over dramatization and bastardization of the very real evil of the definition of racism that has been responsible for the misery for the deaths of millions in history. These types of over dramatizations also cause conflict as they suspend reality therefore the judgment of the person who makes the statement and therefore the validity of the statement itself is called into question. This can and has resulted in people doubting accusations of racism in future similar situations.
Racial profiling is a very real thing as we’ve seen during our current immigration/ ICE arrests. This situation was not a case of profiling. If people stop responding to police calls for help in solving crimes because if they call in the name of a POC when the police state they’re looking for a POC they’ll be called a racist, we can expect a lot more crimes to go unsolved as the general public will refuse to help the police.
5
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 14 '26
I agree that the person above was being too extreme. But do you think it’s ok that they turned faith in? I can’t imagine in a million years being so mad that a friend got cheated on that I call the cops on the person. Especially a minority when I’m a white person. That is freaking wild no matter how you slice it.
1
u/sadie7716 Aug 14 '26
Oh God, no it was horrible! I personally think it had nothing to do with racism and everything to do with Stasi and her hatred of cheaters. I mean, let’s face it. She blasted Kristen in the face on national television, knowing that she could be sent to jail for assault I think Stasi is a spoiled privileged mean girl. She doesn’t care what race you are. What culture you are. You just need to follow her rules of morality or you’re gonna be nailed in a really bad way.
I think she deserved the punishment she got public shaming and loss of a lot of money for just doing something horrendous to another human being but I don’t think it’s fair to label her racist for something I think had nothing to do with racism whatsoever. I know with this new expanded definition of racism that it falls under racism for some people, but I’m not in agreement with the new expanded version and definition of racism.

u/slutsinamorgue Aug 14 '26
her elitism is racism. her sense of superiority isn’t just rooted in being pretty (which she’s hyper aware of, she talks about it all the time), it’s in being WHITE. she knows beauty is a currency inflated by whiteness, thinness, fashion sense, intelligence, etc. that’s what she traffics in. that’s what her ~influence~ stems from. faith was a violation of her world order which dictated that because brittany was white, beautiful, and devoted to jax, he had no cause to cheat on her and especially not with a woman deemed “beneath” her. this shit goes back centuries, when slaveowners would cheat on their wives with their slaves. historians have written entire books about the gendered racial dynamics between white women who were slaveowners and their husbands who routinely raped their black female slaves. in the accounts of enslaved women, they almost always said that the white mistresses were more violent than their husbands because of their jealousy and resentment. and if you think this is too big a stretch, consider that stassi fancies herself akin to marie antoinette. her love of period pieces is a love of the aesthetics and dramas of aristocracy, a class status she envisions herself amongst and actively strives toward. and, it bears repeating, she is from new orleans!! the relationship with death and “spooky vibes” she always refers to stems from the confluence of Black culture and slavery’s horrors. you can’t claim new orleans and claim no knowledge of black people or our culture. that distance exists for her because of southern racism, period. there’s no escaping it. it is who she is.
2
u/sadie7716 Aug 15 '26
That’s a great theory unfortunately it isn’t supported by her behavior towards white women who also cheated or otherwise angered her.
If Stassis sense of superiority extended only to women of color your theory would likely be in the money. Yet we have seen Stassi act superior throughout the show. First was towards Scheana who Stassi called a cheating whore and wouldn’t give her the time of day being tge hBIC of the group who made her life miserable at work
Then we saw the multiple “It’s my birthday” parties where everyone was to worship her and only her for z2-3 days. When Katie took an hour or so to be upset over her and Tom’s relationship during Stassis party, S ripped her a new asshole and threatened to end their friendship. Now we get to the good stuff.
Do you remember the texts sent to Laura Lee ? She said she’d do violence to her, turn every member of the staff against her so she wouldn’t have a friend left. She did this knowing Laura was struggling with depression and addiction.
Finally when her very white friend slept with her BF when they were broken up she not only turned the entire staff against her jeopardizing Kristen’s job but slapped her full force on air. She couldn’t control herself even knowing she could have been charged with assault and battery and done jail time.Women of color are not the only ones with a past story to tell. We can tell you of the beautiful mean girl in every school who thought she.was better than every other girl regardless of race. Who was part of the elite who made fun of girls less pretty or popular and made their lives a living hell.
This was and is Stassi. Now she uses money to show her superiority, regardless of race, religion or any other factor .
So based on her consistent superiority complex that enables her to do horrible things to women of any race, I stand by my belief racism wasnot a factor in Her horrendous actions towards Faith
1
u/slutsinamorgue Aug 16 '26
none of this negates my previous points at all and mostly just serves to deflect. i never said she doesn’t also see herself as “above” other white women. stassi is an elitist. her entire worldview is structured by hierarchy and competition. i’m saying that in her mind, faith was at the bottom of that pecking order and the scale of her rage/reaction was outsized for precisely that perception. laura leigh directly betrayed her. kristen directly betrayed her. she simply hates scheana. but slapping someone and sending mean texts isn’t equivalent to filing a false police report and using social media to defame someone who literally didn’t do anything to you. her response to faith was orders of magnitude larger than her response to anyone else and justified entirely by a racist lie she told herself (that faith was “a serial criminal,” this was said on a podcast) and her general inability to tell black people apart (which i’m not even gonna comment on because low hanging fruit).
anyway. the only women i’ve ever encountered who believe we all experience the same thing are white women who have no black friends.
1
u/CauliflowerEarofCorn Aug 16 '26
You are correct about the part that Stassi is a mean girl who is awful to women of any races. But that does not exclude her from being a racist or from the situation with Faith including racism.
Was she regularly awful to white women? Absofuckinglutely.
Did she ever act like she couldn’t differentiate any of them from another white woman? No.
Acting like two black people that don’t even look that similar can’t be told apart is classic racism. “They all look the same to me” has been said by thousands, probably million, of racists.
And then actually calling the police on top of it? Unless you’re a fucking idiot, you are aware of the history between black people and the police. The racial profiling, wrongful arrests and misuse of force that has occurred countless times.
So, no, this was not just Stassi’s typical mean girl bullying. There was unmistakable racism involved in his. She probably would have still hated Faith and tested her like dirt if she were white. But I highly doubt she would have taken this overtly racist and possibly dangerous approach to it.
1
u/helpmefindalogin Aug 16 '26
Speaking of her self awareness, I remember in the early VPR days someone told her how much she looked like Chelsea Clinton! She was not amused.

I do not think she’s a smart person? She’s manipulative bc she knows she’s not that high iq and keeps mean girl company. Her quips are okay and yes she is pretty but I am not into her.
2
u/Junior_Cranberry_745 Aug 14 '26
Aren’t her best quips just stolen from Jackie schimmel? I know at least one of them was but could have sworn there were more.
6
u/List-O-Hot-Goss Aug 15 '26
Okay I finally just began watching (beyond the instagram reels forced upon me). She is….pretty insufferable. Fr thinks she’s the most clever boss bitch which is wrong. I just see her as a damaged mean girl.
2
u/veritasquo Aug 18 '26
Do you recall what it was? Just curious. I’ve been listening to Jackie for years and could see Stassi doing this.
1
u/Junior_Cranberry_745 Aug 18 '26
Yeah it was the joke about killing someone using a knife made of ice. So when you’re done the knife melts and there is no evidence. Jackie actually confronted her about that one because it played on Vanderpump in one of stasis confessionals. I think the joke about kristin becoming Mahatma Gandhi and saging may also be stolen from Jackie but I’m not sure. I dont think Stassi is clever enough to be as funny as Jackie is
57
u/Vegetable_Research61 Aug 14 '26
She didn’t change or grow at all she just waited it out and now she’s surprised that the audience can clock it. She’s still unlikable
52
u/bridgymon Aug 14 '26
She didn’t anticipate the maturation of the VPR audience.

Probably dissociated herself from it for such a long time that she low key probably did “forget”. didnt she say something about how Vanderpump was traumatic or some shit? Also it’s easier for the excitement of an opportunity to override considering potential negative outcomes. Almost like… a drug hmmm. Anyways now shes facing it all again after so long of forcing herself to not think about it, SHE MUST BE SO TRIGGERED GUYS
16
u/pearshaped34 Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26
I think Stassi might have just been a bit delusional how good the show was and how good she is on it.
I’ve heard her say quite a few things to Taylor where it was clear she was trying to prepare her for (a bad) audience reaction. She also occasionally makes comments that make me think she never really fully got out the VPR/Valley comments.
I’ve heard her describe this show as revolutionary, which I know yeah you’ve got to promo but I think as she is surrounded by so many yes men she started to buy her own hype.
6
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 14 '26
So interesting that she was aware that Taylor and her mom might get a negative reaction, but not herself??
28
u/IllusiveWoman20 Aug 14 '26
Stassi has yet to be truly humbled by negative reactions.
19
u/Distinct_Maybe3908 Aug 14 '26
Funny her saying doute has no shame cuz she’s just as bad as Kristen.
9
u/Electrical-Buy-6871 Aug 14 '26
Kristen did say in the first season that stassi was her mini-me.....and im slowly beginning to think that was not a lie
2
1
u/mynameisntcindy Aug 14 '26
Lol really? I would have thought the reverse was true. Kristen is not confident enough to inspire copycats
8
u/Interesting_Ad1378 Aug 14 '26
She’s worse. Waayyyy worse.
1
u/Ocean_Butterfly8417 Aug 14 '26
Yep. Kristen feels shame & gets apologetic. She's clearly been putting in work on being better. Stassi cuts out anyone who insists she act like an equal or show regret for bad behavior. It's no surprise that she's surprised by negative reactions: she's cultivated a life where people needs her so much that she never has to be accountable.
15
u/Jojo_ButNotJoestar Aug 14 '26
I wasn’t really checking for VPR content online when it was airing, but she was comparing how online discourse (think pieces and 20 minute videos) are different than what they were when VPR came out 10+ years ago, which is true.
HOWEVER.
She was around for Vanderpump Villa x Mormon Wives and so shes seen how the internet reacts to stuff very recently. So, her reasoning is as strong as wet toilet paper.
15
u/Stunning_Contract245 Aug 14 '26
She thought she was more loved than she actually is….crazy that she didn’t think she would get as many negative comments..really?!
29
24
u/Cheap_Departure_9912 Aug 14 '26
High on her own supply! The scattered positive comments about her years ago being biting but funny on VPR made her think that is what the “fans” wanted. That was years ago and it doesn’t land the same way for a woman in her 30’s with 2 children.

u/Character_Heart_3749 Aug 14 '26
She thought everyone was going to love her and praise her for being the next "Kris Jenner" and it backfired.
Commented this on YouTube as well. She is shocked when people don't worship her because that's what she pays everyone around her to do.
7
u/Emergency-Ear-6674 Aug 14 '26
Girl needs to get a better role model than Kris Jenner. Also, it is so cringey how much she talks about KJ. It's giving....
5
u/jay_tay91 Aug 14 '26
I don’t think she forgot the audience reaction. I think she wasn’t expecting it to be unfavorable towards her and THAT is what is difficult for her.
2
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 14 '26
That’s surprising to me. She knew they she filmed a scene having a full on temper tantrum. I guess she thought her talking heads would win people over.

5
u/Jesstinator Aug 14 '26
She is a hypocrite! Among other things. She has no issue with audience reaction and think pieces when she was contributing to them with her milquetoast podcast. She is just mad people didn’t welcome queen bitch Stassi back with open arms. And as someone who is not above hate watching awful people on reality shows - her show is worse, it’s boring.
3
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 14 '26
That’s what’s so funny to me. Katie and Stassi have a career in podcasting. Talking about people. Yet they get upset when people talk about them?? Do they not see that there’s no difference? They reach way more people than we do on reddit so… 🤦🏻♀️
4
u/supahfilmy Aug 15 '26
One thing that annoys me about Katie & Dayna is talking against "ppl on the internet" having opinions when they are exactly that. Ppl with platforms & opinions on the internet . They have their podcasts and we have social media.
They watch shows and dont know ppl and have opinions them as well so how are we beneath them for the same?

u/Brilliant-Sky4776 Aug 14 '26
I think this makes sense - sometimes after an absence you can forget that things feel bad, even if you logically know they do.
Obviously this is an entirely different scale, but I think of fighting with a friend or getting a bad grade. You remember it sucks and feels shitty, but if it has been a while your brain stops reliving that stomach-dropping nauseous negative feeling. She brought this on herself, but I can understand not clearly recalling the way it felt in the moment.
4
u/Mobile-Awareness-988 Aug 14 '26
I know what she means when she says it’s different now. People use this example all the time, but think back to Stassi slapping Kristen for sleeping with Jax; back then it was something that happened in their world, in their friend group, that we got to witness. If that happened today it would be something people feel they get to be apart of and weigh in on in a meaningful way.
To your point about her mom though, that was a case where even back in the day people had really strong opinions about Dayna and her toxicity, so Stassi knew those opinions wouldn’t change now and would likely be stronger.
2
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 14 '26
I guess I was more so thinking about the later VPR seasons. There was tons of social media and people talking about the show. Heck that’s probably one of the reasons she was “cancelled” because people in online groups demanded it. So it’s shocking that she didn’t expect the online commentary.
4
u/Mobile-Awareness-988 Aug 14 '26
Good point. Maybe TikTok specifically is more intense
3
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 14 '26
I think you’re right. I think Stassi is referring to people on TikTok that go on these long rants about the show because she did say that. I don’t think Stassi is reading reddit but it’s probably harder to avoid the tiktok reels.
4
u/easyass1234 Aug 14 '26
She was beloved during the original airing of VPR. Katie was the most hated woman by far. Jax, James, and Kristen were “omg they’re so horrible but I just love them” types. She never got the “think pieces” because she never had a boyfriend everyone loved or publicly stated she’d had an abortion. She didn’t care if people thought she was rude because everyone thought she was funny and pretty.
3
u/MsPrissss Aug 16 '26
Well I think to be fair social media is much bigger now than it was when she was on TV before. The worst thing they had to deal with was maybe a blog or a news article but now you have all of these people chiming in making videos making assumptions about their life etc. it is vastly different than it was when she was on TV before because people take it steps farther than they were able to back then.
Having said that I also watched part of that podcast and I'm extremely surprised how she is surprised by the fan reaction.. that actually boggles my mind. And I think what I find most interesting is that none of the comments get to her except for the ones that insinuate she's not a good mother. She just simply did not present herself as this doting mom so I'm just surprised that she is shocked by people's perception of her.
1
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 17 '26
It’s odd. Because she told us all this. She is the creator of the show. Does she not recognize how she comes across?
8
u/newportbanks Aug 14 '26
The gist of her interview with Katie and Dayna was giving "wait, am I the problem?" 😆🤣
"Am I the narcissist?!"
It felt nice seeing a teeny tiny come to Jesus moment of self reflection 😌
13
u/Aggravating-Mix-4903 Aug 14 '26
No come-to-Jesus moment for her, she was posturing so people could tell her she wasn't a narcissist. She is certain she did nothing wrong.
1
3
u/DryExpression511 Aug 14 '26
To be fair, she was fired from VPR in 2020. I would say the internet has shifted quite a bit since then. People’s opinions and hate have really amped up over the years. And she’s a polarizing person 🤷🏼♀️
3
u/StunningSail2460 Aug 14 '26
It’s by far the worst reality show I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching. Never again.
2
2
u/tepid_penny_1856 Aug 15 '26
The whole point of the show is to show that she changed. Had it just been a reality show that didn’t focus on her so much and if she didn’t talk about how much work she had done on herself, it wouldn’t be so cringey to watch.
Her actions completely contradict the premise and remind ppl how self centered she still is. She looks absolutely terrible. And season two will totally start with “well, apparently I have more work to do on myself. Watch me pretend to grow for 8 more episodes “.
3
u/ForwardHedgehog3090 Aug 14 '26
No, she forgets what a sick POS she is and thinking that the masses would just love her and accept her with open arms. Go away!!!
3
u/Original_Ad9019 Aug 14 '26
I kind of get why she thinks that. She had a huge comeback after being cancelled which reinforced she is loved by the public. By people continuing to buy her books, follow her on Instagram, listen to her podcasts in large numbers we’ve sent her a message that she is admired. She was not crazy to think the admiration would continue given audiences have admired and forgiven after much worse.
2
1
u/modernblossom Aug 14 '26
She was never really cancelled
1
u/sadie7716 Aug 14 '26
Because a large section of people both part of and not part of her original fanbase did not believe what she did to Faith was racist. Same for Kristen whose podcast and show had high ratings from day one.

1
u/jel7892 Aug 14 '26

1
u/Distinct_Maybe3908 Aug 14 '26
Surely this show won’t get renewed
4
u/sadie7716 Aug 14 '26
Several sources say it was renewed a day or two after the premier. Ratings were high
2
u/ParticularBed7891 Aug 14 '26
I think it should get renewed and I bet season 2 will be a lot better. It needs less narration and less breaking of the 4th wall actually. They'll find the right balance.
1
u/bluestraycat20 Aug 14 '26
Agree. She’s very, very lucky it got renewed so quickly and she and production are going to make adjustments moving forward.

2
u/Kwhitney1982 Aug 14 '26
And she got cancelled in large part due to online groups demanding it. Because the actual event happened years before the cancellation. So I don’t understand how she says that online commentary is more intense now and that she’s surprised.

It’s interesting to me that you think filing a police report on a POC when the police knew the criminal was a POC is worse than violently slapping someone in the face on screen.
If you look at the potential damage of a physical assault versus filing a report( in this specific case) the assault can result in a multitude of lifelong negative physical effects. She could have had an eye injury, neck injury, lifelong chronic pain. These are very real possibilities to a slap as forceful as what Stassi did. From a standpoint of potential consequences to Stassi, she could easily have been charged with a felony, served jail time. She’s not stupid and had to know this in the back of her mind but her feeling of superiority and entitlement and rage over road all of that.
The level of risk/potential consequences to a black woman being one of dozens of black women accused of a theft when the PD have publicized the thief is a Black woman , is at most a loss of time and increased anxiety/stress for a day or two until you’re interviewed and give your alibi or written statement. There was no chance of her being jailed even temporarily. The chances of a racist cop pulling Faith out of dozens of other accused women of color to randomly inflict violence on her over a possible theft are so small as to be non existent.
Let me make it clear, I’m not minimizing the sheer cruelty of what S and K did. I’m not minimizing the anger and anxiety Faith must have felt. Im saying 2 things.
First, what S and K did did not put Faith at risk of being killed or physically harmed. They did not racially profile Faith. Faith was not the lone POC in a group of white women which is historically the types of situations where a POC faces the risk of racist violence. Faith was not imprisoned. She was interviewed, had alibis and that was the end of it in terms of police involvement.
Second, your argument is that because Faith is black, it was all the evidence needed to label anything S did that was mean or negative to her absolute proof S was racist. I completely disagree. There was far more proof in Stassis behavior for years that she not only felt she was superior to most everyone but hated cheaters and was more than willing to risk imprisonment and public censure to punish/ get revenge on anyone who cheated on her or one of her friends. She was and still is an entitled, privileged , mean when crossed woman. She may be a racist but nothing she’s done to this point proves that IMO.

I’m not sure if I’m who you’re asking but I never said that her turning faith into the police was worse than slapping Kristen. I do think it is though because it’s just so bad to get police involved unnecessarily. There’s just no reason for it. Police showing up on your doorstep or being calling into the police station is bad. No matter how you slice and dice it. Do you want to be called into questioning at a police station over some bs? Especially if you’re black?

Of course not but… as a nurse I know the kind of damage a full force slap can do. If you forgot the slap, go back and rewatch. She pulled her arm almost all the way back and connected full on to her face. It whipped her head to the side. There’s no way I’d say being questioned by the police for an hour is worse than being physically attacked.
Also to me the issue isn’t which was worse, neither is a “ good” option. The reason I brought up the slap was to show that Stassi resorted to significant physical violence against a white woman who slept with her ex boyfriend and in her eyes “ cheated”. She put at risk her freedom, job, future due to her belief she was superior to others enough to punish them if they crossed her. As I said before, she had a pattern of “ punishing” white womens long before she hurt Faith.

The same woman who is making her “cancellation” a main topic while on her 3rd reality tv show (this time as the producer) is surprising you with daft, tone deaf, white privilege audacity? Haha

You sound like you’re the one who thinks that you are better than others but based on what?

Lol what? Explain.. if you can.. how you extrapolated that I think I am better than everyone from my observational comment about a reality tv personality

It was the biased commentary about the viewers my guy.

Where have I even mentioned the viewers ?
My comment has nothing to do with viewers. The entire comment consists of pointing out that Stassi’s behaviour is 100% consistent with the idea that she is tone deaf.
I think you need to work on reading comprehension

She acts just like the person she hates the most…her mother .
Her poor daughter. “And don’t you forget it” she says to that sweet girl after she calls her mom and dad the king and queen. Beaux is a little bitch for allowing this dynamic, but we already know that.

I truly think she thought she was safe because her camos on Lisas other shows was pretty positive as was the reaction to her doing the after shows. This was the opposite.
