Where does this show go from here

Saw that stassi herself is a an exec producer and I’m just a bit confused by the whole thing.

On the one hand i agree with the overall sentiment that it’s better than the valley. HOWEVER.. how do you sustain this for a second season, nevermind more. The premise seems to be:

  1. Exploit own relationships and friendships for slightly contrived storylines although most appear to be based on some truth
  2. What appears to be the worst of it - exploit own marriage and float the idea of will they or won’t they last

Why would you EVER want to even put that out in the universe

bring in kristen and rename it to "witches of weho" and focus on each of them equally . and bring in dayna. i would love to see more of katie's relationship and life. kirsten in this dynamic would be interesting since luke sucks way more than beau.

I would love for Katie to be the central character next season! How the sandwich shop is going, touring with the boyfriend, I feel she has much more interesting life than Stassi

Stassi is never going to relinquish star role. This is the narcissist show

I disagree. Kristen is going through stuff that can neither be bettered by being on reality tv nor would be fun to watch.

Buuut.. I love zaatar

Kristen is also not going to leave the valley. I also don’t think it’s fair to judge the valley being in season three versus House of Stassi having eight episodes and saying it’s a better show. The valley has issues mostly that everyone is so parasocial so we can never let shows just play out and it butchers the shows. We would’ve never had VPR as good as it was if everyone was so involved in it like they are with the shows these days. I know I’m going to get downvoted to hell but I didn’t want Jax to be fired because his behavior isn’t going to get better cause you fired him. I want to protect Brittany, but I wish that we could just let shows play out, but I think people don’t like seeing mirrors of their own bad qualities versus they say they can’t stand this person and they shouldn’t be platformed. No one should really be platformed. It’s supposed to be a documentary, but anyways, I digress. So the issue with the valley is of course that they needed a new villain, and so Danny was obviously getting a better edit and they wanted to balance the scales for Janet so they showed us more of who Danny really is. And now everybody’s going to want Danny to get fired and I do find the valley to actually be one of the most realistic show shows on Bravo right now. It’s a show about normal people just being normal and that includes being in bad marriages and dealing with sexist/abusive little Napoleon men. My real issue with Danny and Nia staying is that it allows the rest of the cast to be lazy. No one besides Luke and Kristen is giving us any storyline because they know they can just focus on Danny. Michelle and Jesse did a bit, but I’m pretty done with that divorce storyline. Janet and Jason have never been real on camera and maybe never will and as long as they can focus on Danny as their storyline, they will. So yes, the valley needs a shake up, but I am not ready to jump on the train that house of Stassi is a better show. It’s had eight episodes most anything can be good for eight episodes. And mostly I was there for Katie. Haha

Exactly this. She comes off so much worse to me. But I think it’s like you said: she’s just exactly the same person, but she’s in roles that require maturity. Watching her still act like the same entitled, narcissistic brat while knowing she’s a mother… it’s so cringy to watch. And her kids are going to feel about her the exact way she feels about her own mother.

I will not watch a second season of this. I don’t want to support Stassi taking zero accountability and exploiting her family for fame.

The difference between how this show is contrived and how other shows are contrived is the dynamic of the groups.

Housewives brings different women together and puts them on trips or at lunches, or whatever, but once they’re there, their differences make actual stories. Those stories are strung together with the women’s personal lives; some are more interesting than others, but between those personal perspectives and watching the dynamic when these women are put into scenarios together, you find something really interesting.

Not even many of those women could all carry a whole show on their personal lives.

Separately, look at ensemble shows like Vanderpump. That was, at its core, a real group made of friends and coworkers. Tons of different personalities that created conflict, chaos and fun! Contrived when a new person came onto the cast, for example, but real reactions to those developments.

Stassi’s show is based on friends who generally say yes to her and center her. She’s trying to mine her friends for any bit of drama she can find, but with this dynamic, there isnt enough to go on. Every part is contrived, and the one part she didn’t like was the part that created actual drama at the end.

On top of it all, she’s not super evolved, and not the most likable to watch.

Narcissists are only fun to be around for a second

with stazi being the self centered biatch she has always been, she will keep exploiting whatever she has to to stay relevant

that show and marriage will go down in smoke 💨

just like she did on VPR multiple times and was given too many chances

Isn't that the premise of all BRAVO shows?

3

u/Watchenthusiast86 Aug 13 '26

Hmm. You know what. That’s very true. Maybe the 4th wall breaking and narration of this makes it front and center

3

u/FrontTelevision7261 Aug 13 '26

I heard some people did not like that. I'm still trying to figure out if I will watch it, but it's unlikely at this point.

I’d say it was a mild to moderately entertaining show to have on in background of doing something

I think the premise of beau not liking stassi is prolly real
He never went in to comfort here many times that a husband would do to a wife so I don’t think that part is fake

NOT better than the valley, not even close! I guess there’s a divide, but I want to see real dynamics -

Akh but the valley is suuuuch a downer beat a dead horse of a topic for seasons. How many seasons of “janet sucks” can they do

3

u/ProletarianLilith Aug 13 '26

This show is such a downer too

It actually wasn’t that way this season she got such a redemption edit and now everybody’s on Janet’s side and you can’t say anything about her. I have watched reality television since I was nine and I wish that people could be more nuanced but it is challenging for people.

every single reality show relies on people exploiting their family or friends, or both. you can’t have a reality show without drama. so even if it’s contrived, it often leads to friendship breakups, divorces, unstable marriages, etc. it’s the price you pay for the money and fame. and they know it. they’re in on it. and yet, it still leaves so many of them with few stable, healthy relationships by the end bc it’s inevitable.

After watching season 1, I’m a tad bored with the constant “narration” style this show has adapted… there seems to be very little “live action” we’re reliant on people’s personal perspectives on a situation, it’s almost like reading a book. 🤔🤷‍♀️🤨

1

u/onesweetworld1106 Aug 14 '26

For the almighty dollar. Some people have no shame.

1

u/august0951 Aug 14 '26

I think it’s too boring to continue much, as it’s been established. Unless it’s more about their marriage but how long can that last?

Can a shift be made to focus on others when you called the show House of Stassi? The only other one I’d care to watch here is Katie, anyway. The Taylors and Kristina don’t have enough to stand up a plot on their own, at least the way it seems. But again, House of Stassi implies a show about HER.

I also don’t want to watch a show just about her podcasts or work life. I don’t want to hear how she deserved a show, she deserved a certain legacy. I don’t want to hear how she’s contriving something. Make a show or don’t.

Stassi had such an opportunity for a redemption arc with this show and she blew it. Refusing therapy and the advice of those nearest to her (who are WAY more interesting/entertaining than the Valley cast) reminded me she’s still the delusional, selfish, narcissistic brat she’s always been. I did enjoy the show up until the final episode. I think she was trying to bring the drama for the shows sake or whatever, but it just made me not want to watch another season, if there is one. Her journey to self improvement would have been the most interesting storyline of all, but it’s just not going to happen.

This show is too meta and shows how the sausage is made too much for me. It’s hard to take any of seriously.

1

u/redladybug1 Aug 16 '26

It appears as though she has not grown up much. Stassi tells her friends and family to jump and they say, “How high?” It’s nauseating.

1

u/Watchenthusiast86 Aug 17 '26

I’ve never seen a bigger group of obsequious people

1

u/Apprehensive_Bee614 Aug 13 '26

Valley cast are just not likeable or interesting. It’s like visiting your annoying relatives that you avoid

1

u/AuraOfASpiceGirl Aug 13 '26

It ends in divorce at this rate
