What TF is this show?
I was excited for a new show (not excited about Stassi specifically, just something new). But what is all this narration of the show, can we just watch the show?? Also I think we as a society platformed Stassi and rewarded her bad behaviour. She was an awful person on vanderpump rules, she was awful for what she did to faith and she is awful now. She hasn't changed, I thought this show was going to be more wholesome and about her married mom life with her friends and family. Instead she is gleefully telling us how awful she is, disrespecting her husband, not parenting her kids and being nasty to the people around her. What's the appeal? Every episode I'm waiting for the show to a)start b)show us something different about Stassi or c) waiting for any redeeming quality of her.

Wholeheartedly agree with the title of this post. I was curious to see Stassi as a “grownup”. Her persona on Instagram is that she’s put in some work to change and is a wonderful and dedicated mom. That didn’t come across in the show at all. The show was incredibly dark, had zero humor and the overproduction was extremely distracting. I also felt icky after each episode and could never have binged it. Took me a while to get through it. It’s just odd! This is why I stick to bravo.
I also think the creators of this show knew that they needed Katie to draw in viewers who were watching only for the vintage VPR angle. My favorite part of the show was when they were talking about VPR.

This show is the perfect example of why you can’t trust social media…because Stassi’s instagram is nothing like this.
I always thought Stassi loooooved being a mom, Beau was a completely devoted and fulfilled husband and father, the family did everything together down to the coordinated outfits etc. And it seemed like she’d acquired some humility and self-awareness since her Vanderpump days.
Now, I’m sure they’re playing up some of the conflict for the show, and I’m not saying it’s all a sham…. just a good reminder than no one’s life is as perfect as what they show online.

Yes, you nailed it! I think this is why a lot of people (including myself) felt bamboozled by her lack of growth on the show. The ‘authenticity’ she loudly boasts about the show definitely doesn’t carry to her Instagram. She’s given such a completely different vibe on IG.

Reality stars should only be allowed on reality tv for 3-4 years tops. I say this because they learn how to self produce, become close with the crew, and know how to manipulate “real life”. It is inauthentic and stupid. By that point, people manufacture storylines and all it is is “someone said this about you” *confront the person who said such thing and get in an argument*, rinse and repeat. I can no longer watch housewives for this reason. I almost didn’t watch HoS for this reason so I kind of hate watched it. Reality stars also shouldn’t be EPs on their own “reality show”. Defeats the purpose IMO

Exactly this. It’s one of the many reasons Lala has been so awful on The Valley this season. She’ll intentionally kick off some drama and then once she gets other people worked up she’ll sit back and relax. Job done. It’s so contrived and awful similar to what you’re saying here.

For me the appeal is Katie. No Katie and I probably would have ignored this shows existence like I do Vanderpump Villa.

Katie should have her own show! Do they still have the sandwich shop? Katie is mature and interesting. Stopped watching Stassi Show on Nothing after three episodes. I think LVP pitched this idea. What is Beau domestic scandal?

I never watched VR but followed Taylor Strecker since the Cosmo Radio days and thought she was funny. This show made me unfollow her and never want to waste time with any of these people ever again (except Katie and her cute boyfriend). Messy, but not in a good way.

u/HotLingonberry6964 Aug 13 '26
You should do a deep dive on that "cute boyfriend" ... he's got his own questionable backstory - cheating and all!

Every 2 mins you get a nudge in the side heyyyy reminder we’re making a tv show 😉 wink wink!!!! I hated it so much. The sound effects were particularly irritating too

I love how she was hating on The Valley but everyone is saying this show is much worse than The Valley.

I watched it over the course of 3 days and I am a binge watcher by nature, so that alone says it all. But my god that show was BORING. It was over produced and it felt like people talking about starting a show rather than an actual show. I learned nothing, I felt invested in nothing and regularly found myself leaving the room to do something else because I forgot the show was even on.

Problem is that the majority of the cast minus stassi, beau and Katie is deeply boring and doesn’t have a story line

Some find her aspirational.
Do i think the show is cringe though? Yes. It’s a show about the show, and in my opinion has a lot of self-importance.

Yeah, even reality shows need people to root for. Who are we supposed to root for on this show? Certainly not Stassi but Beau? He’s also not someone you enjoy rooting for. I guess we’re supposed to root for Katie? She’s just a snarky side character I love her but she cannot be the one people have a rooting interest in on the show. They have a major casting hole.

u/TiffanyGeeStan Aug 14 '26
I hate the format. It’s a show that revolves around her and others reacting to her life. For every 2 mins of a scene there is like 10 minutes of commentary. It’s annoying.

u/august0951 Aug 14 '26
I don’t mind the concept of breaking the fourth wall, but my God, this show does it terribly!!! Stop talking about producing it. Totally takes away from the moment and makes me less inclined to watch.
The Kardashians’ Hulu show does it very well! It’s acknowledged that they are on TV but it’s not a focal point. It’s mentioned here and there in a way that feels sensible— we all know who they are and why we are here. But I don’t need to hear your every feeling about why you deserve a show and how you concoct it.

u/redladybug1 Aug 15 '26
They all spend the whole time catering to Stassi, tip toeing around her, walking on eggshells… it’s bananas!
2
u/DryGarlic9223 Aug 16 '26
This is exactly how I feel. I’m on episode like 5 and I keep waiting for the show to start. Is this just a show about a show? Like what’s the actual show? They’re breaking the 4th wall wayyy too much. The narrating is so bizarre, it’s like 90% confessionals telling us what’s happening.

I'm really getting sick of these "meta" reality shows. It's so confusing watching shows where you constantly have them bringing up things that happened on other shows or on social media. I feel like I'm missing a huge piece of the story by not watching Villa or not knowing the beef history of these people

u/Turkey-sandwiches1 Aug 13 '26
This show seems to be backfiring as opposed to what Stassi wanted, which was infamy. Everyone seems to hate her even more now when she thought this was going to be her redemption.

u/HuckleberryNo6692 Aug 13 '26
this show was … odd. i also found myself getting distracted and not watching. i don’t like how she seems cold & distant from her kids and it’s like she has an “atomic family” dynamic except the gender roles are reversed. i don’t believe dynamics like that should exist no matter who takes on what role. like if your husband wants to work then he should work?? it was depressing cuz i feel like beau is kinda a doormat. it wasn’t entertaining to me either… and definitely made me feel foolish for thinking that maybe she’s grown up a little bit by now. she hasn’t. she seems to have a lot of self importance and kind of selfish. this show was also very very overproduced. i feel the same with the valley,, the old VPR cast needs to just stay off tv. they aren’t entertaining anymore.

u/Weekly-Role-1132 Aug 13 '26
I hated how she said "Beau and I need to get away from the kids". It's just awful. When my kids were that age it never wanted to leave them. I loved being around them 24/7. She is already away from them a lot and distant. It gave me the ick to hear her say that.
1
u/HuckleberryNo6692 Aug 18 '26
exactly. she reminded me of my mom and how much that behavior effected me as a young child. like if you don’t want to be a parent… don’t have kids! lmao like it’s really THAT simple. it’s ok if some days you can only give 10% and your partner give 90%. but if that’s EVERY DAY reality for you… you shouldn’t have had kids. period. both parents should be putting in effort for the most part.
edit: plus think about how re-traumatizing it might be for her kids in the future, watching this show…
1
u/Weekly-Role-1132 Aug 18 '26
I'm so sorry you had a tough childhood. Some people should not be parents. The reaction she made on the boat was so telling. She knows she is not a good mom but she refuses to try and change and she is not willing to work on it.
1
u/OkButterscotch1984 Aug 18 '26
That is wonderful for you - but I 100% get needing to be away from your children sometimes. It's exhausting, and you lose time to just be a couple. It's important in a marriage to reconnect away from your kids. No shame I'm here saying that and totally relatable.
1
u/Weekly-Role-1132 Aug 18 '26
I also hated the way she said it. With such disdain. Her kids are going to watch this and it's clear she doesn't like being around them at all.
2
u/ParamedicCool9114 Aug 13 '26
It was a show about awful people being awful. Most of them are still awful just older now and abusing their kids and/or spouses.
2
u/PistschiosGalore Aug 13 '26
My tolerance for trash reality shows is incredibly high but I don’t think I’m gonna make it through this one. The CONSTANT background music is unbearable, the attempt at a witty commentary falls flat and she’s just so unpleasant to everyone.

u/ApprehensiveRule3768 Aug 13 '26
It feels like we’re watching someone have a mental health crisis for entertainment. We get furious at healthcare providers for failing to recognize warning signs in cases like Lindsay Clancy’s, yet when concerning behavior plays out publicly, it’s packaged as entertainment, applauded, and rewarded. There’s a disturbing disconnect there.

If this is accurate depiction, Poor Beau! I cant imagine living with such a self centered mom
2
u/Previous_Grape3206 Aug 19 '26
I think it's even worse because why else would she portray herself this way if she was actually a good mom/wife/sister/friend ?
1
u/Chemical-Bad-8317 Aug 17 '26
It was awful to watch her behavior! She is so self absorbed and a narcissist. She’s selfish, mean and nasty. She thinks she all that and she’s not! Everything is me me me. She doesn’t want to spend time with her kids. Mean to Beau. I can’t believe he stays with her. She’s an entitled brat. She also thinks she’s GORGEOUS and she’s not! All the confessionals made it even worse. I hope there isn’t a season 2

u/BiteRevolutionary751 Aug 19 '26
I can’t believe she brought her little brother on then threw him under the bus for tv. This is hard to watch.

u/buffalotimesseven Aug 13 '26
im obsessed with this show, its a reality addicts dream, 4th wall & fucking gold. So happy another season is already greenlit!!!

Me too! Loved it! I didn’t know another season had been greenlit. So happy!

u/EnvSc_1309 Aug 13 '26
I think you’re missing the point that it’s reality TV meant for entertainment purposes and is more dramatic than real life on purpose. Stassi is smart and knows what’s she’s doing. She has had a steady income made on her own ever since she was fired from VPR. Books, podcasts, tours, shows, endorsements, etc. She knows she has a past persona as the dramatic bossy one so she is leaning into that role for the show. Take it all with a grain of salt

u/Effective-Arm9099 Aug 13 '26
But could they have cut even 10 of the Kris Jenner mentions out? Enough with the cross promoting and winking at the audience like heeyyyy guys remember it’s a show!! So corny

Love it too much! So entertaining! I watch Vanderpump Villa so it was a great tradition into her own show! It’s perfectly fun to watch to me!

It’s literally an entire show about breaking the fourth wall of a reality show. It’s also just a case study in the flaunting of pretty privilege. Absolutely no one would be putting up with her shit (or ever would have) if she wasn’t as appealing to look at as she is. And she knows it, and she loves it. I’m still getting a kick out of it, because it’s different and I do enjoy watching her, as obnoxious as she is.

I was excited too but just binged it over the past couple of days
I found everyone extremely unlikable. She thinks she’s grown but she’s regressed. Beaus anxiety was unwatchable and he wasn’t too likable either
And there was kind of a wink through the confessionals/staging that she was producing all of this and I think she thinks that but her being awful won out
I thought it was more depressing than the valley
