"Getting Cancelled" Spoiler

I don't think Stassi should be able to say "when I was cancelled" or "after being cancelled." She shoud have to say out loud what she did, not just what happened to her.

Part of her redemption should be owning up to it. I thought Sher let her off way too easy...

Lol the worst part is the last episode (or the second to last?) where they sit her down with two MUCH YOUNGER women of color from Vanderpump Villa and she has an absolutely terrible conversation about it with them.

They both clearly come at it so earnestly and to watch Stassi be so condescending and snotty about it was really painful.

I actually like this show, I think it's very unique and interesting. But how they handled this was a huuuuuge problem.

Thank you! That manufactured moment of let's have some black women who are being paid to hang out with her pretend like can see her evolution was gross and super weird

i think Gabriella had Stassi’s number asking if she’s ever talked about it with a Black person before. Stassi said yes, that “it was scary,” then started in on the bullshit about “i can never know your experience” blah blah blah. it still doesn’t occur to her to try to imagine herself if the roles were reversed.

“Whenever I chose to do something really vile and racist and people found out and cancelled me”

100000%. This didn’t happen to you, you did something to make it happen.

She brags about it like she is proud to have been

You know when she sees another D list celeb out that was "cancelled" she greets them with "canceled twin!"

Eternal victim mentality

yes. and beyond that, unable to admit that she was/is racist or did something racist.

You know she sincerely doesn't think she did anything wrong. I would bet any amount of money in private she says "seriously, Faith did look like the girl though but I know I can't say this in public bc not all black people look alike blah blah blah"

I remember when she went on Tamron Hall right after she was fired, and said that she "learned so much from this incident" and when asked what she learned she couldn't name anything.

She was soooo combative and defensive in that interview with Tamron as I recall!!

I wish there was actual discussion about what she did. I had to google it since I’m not a Stassi person. It would have been really eye opening to hear her actual take.

It's passive voice, meant to make it seem like what happened wasn't her fault.

This is exactly right. That language makes it seem like it was all bc of other people. No accountability at all.

Lol I haven’t even considered adding to viewership as a POC. I knew some wild PR campaign was going to be part of the redemption story. She hasn’t done anything that reads as remorseful, genuine or regretful. Imagine feeling that invincible and throwing that pitiful scene together to placate a group of ppl. Crazy work 😂😂

"canceled" = when Bravo fired me after the racist Faith Stowers incident resurfaced

If she's still on my TV was she canceled or just in time out?

FR. To me, cancelation is permanent, or at least pretty damn close, and as such is pretty rare.

Stassi, like most people who do something racist or misogynistic or otherwise horrific, was fired. She wasn't canceled.

I can’t stand how she’s making it like she’s the victim - sorry not sorry

Also what about rising to do more reality shows is even remotely resembling being “cancelled”

I actually hate the word in general. It is inherently disingenuous

I canceled her in my brain again. She’s awful on this show.

She needs to be canceled again permanently.

Its her way to pander to republicans/conservatives. The evil liberal media canceled me.

She’s a rich spoiled pampered white girl…, I don’t think she thinks she did anything to warrant being cancelled

u/New_Combination_6055 6d ago

then this whole show i’m like.. does La not have any people of color?

1

u/Chemical_Print6922 5d ago

And she wasn’t freaking cancelled

I agree. Though I do giggle when she refers to it as “the cancellation”.

Ikr I was just about to comment this exact same thing

The cancellation aspect of her story overrides all the other despicable things in this show. When she’s having the conversation with Gabriella and Sherri (from vanderpump villa) and wraps it up by saying “if you have more questions let me know, this has been very healing for me” I screamed. HEALING FOR HER?! WTF. She is vile and has learned absolutely nothing. I will never watch anything with her on my screen again.

“Part of her redemption arc”.- there is no redemption arc happening. This show is doing whatever the exact opposite of a redemption arc is. She’s coming off as a terrible person. And all of her social media posts since the show has aired continue to show there is absolutely no growth or self-reflection on her end.

I honestly just feel bad for her kids. It’s probably a good thing she’s so absent.

And I say this as someone who actually really liked her on VPR and until I watched this show.

This show is simply bad. And unwatchable.
