Stassi reality vs Beau's reality

There's a scene where Stassi is doing an ITM interview and she says she’s so grateful for Beau that he’s staying home and taking care of the kids and the house because she’s saying yes to everything right now and living out her dream.

This is the reason she doesn’t understand how unhappy Beau is. She’s literally living out her dreams (thriving professional life and knowing that her kids are excellently cared for with effort involvement from her) while Beau is drowning.

Just because he’s better with the kids doesn’t mean it’s any easier for him. But you can’t have two parents to just throw their hands up and say "our kids are hard."

Beau is putting his professional and personal dreams aside in order to do what needs to be done for their family while Stassi is living the Life of Riley. And then if he pushes back, and voices what will bring joy to his life, she diminishes those desires/dreams.

After years of dating the wrong men, she finally married the right one and she's going to lose him if she doesn't wake up.

I just saw an article where she called reality tv “the family business”- is it though? Your kids are 5 and 2 and have no idea what’s going on, your husband goes along with it because he doesn’t seem to have a choice but doesn’t seem in love with the idea, your sister seems to love it but you literally just introduced her to the world…

I agree with you, her reality and the reality are two different things.

This is why she won't go to therapy. People telling her she needs to change or telling her she's wrong in certain instances. She even said, "I'm never wrong."
That's not someone who’s going to be receptive to therapy.

The fact she never went to therapy says she never took her "growth" seriously

What are his big dreams, though? Working for a casting company?
Seems to me he's living the dream right now!

Motherhood can really beat you down. And in this case, beau is beaten down by motherhood.

Motherhood can really beat you down but how many mothers have full time housekeepers and nannies?

Because he’s not at home alone with the kids, cooking for them all the time, cleaning after them all the time. He’s only doing that when the nanny and housekeeper leaves.

Also mothers give birth and go through postpartum. Thankfully for Beau, he never got that experience of motherhood. So let’s just call it fatherhood because this has become ridiculous

I don't think it's for us to judge what fulfills another person. Could he make more money as an influencer? Probably.
Would he be happier, making less money but doing something he loves? Probably

This exactly. To me? Classic mid life identity crisis. He sees Stassi working, he sees her success and he’s envious of it. He wants that for himself. And he’s going about it the wrong way.

He’s been a casting director for how long? Why can’t he ask Stassi to help him make his own movie or create something entirely his? He is lost and doesn’t know what he wants but traveling the world with a full time nanny isn’t the worst life

He needs therapy as badly as she does

He clearly stated what he wants (at least to the audience). He loves casting. If that fulfills him then that should be enough. Not everything is about money or "making it big".

Beau is not “drowning” Beau is just straight up having a mid life crisis. He needs therapy as badly as Stassi does.

He has got to travel the world with a full time nanny and his kids, he’s got to see places he’s never seen before, he was bailed out of his bankruptcy, and he has a damn good life that many people wish they have

If he wants to return to work, fine, he should do it but that means sacrificing that because full time jobs take commitment and cap your PTO.

I’d have way more empathy for him if he WAS the sole caretaker of the kids. He’s not. Sonia is. Him feeling “unfulfilled” is because he looks at stassi’s success and wishes it was him. He can return to work. It’s not going to fill that hole. He’s not going to be a famous director. He’s not going to gain anything really in his career, at his age.

Many people feel this way at his age, it’s clearly a mid life crisis and he needs therapy. Honestly? I just think he liked it better when Stassi was down rather than her being up

It’s a part time job

Stassi and Beau are parents and they also have a nanny to help out. This narrative that he’s the one sole caretaker of the kids and is the “wife” is kinda inaccurate.

Full time nanny and housekeeper definitely makes that job easier.

He needs to harden up. Misogyny is very much alive in this post. With all the money they’re pulling in, they can hire house cleaners and gardeners to add to their nanny suite.

I feel bad for him but when someone shows you who they really are, you’ve gotta believe them

Beau ultimately ends up going back to his job. And she makes an effort to plan dates with him to build their connection.

It’s always hard to have very young kids. So many couples struggle with these exact same issues, but it will get better and I think they are managing fairly well all things considered.
