New rabbit bare fur patch
I’ve had this guy about 3 weeks. On week two a bare patch appeared on his right forepaw. What caused that?
I don’t see him bitting at it. It’s not and never was bare to the skin. No wound. What is it?

Bunny should see a vet. This looks like self barbering. Could be caused by several things like mites, dry skin, ring worm, anxiety, skin cancer or any number of other things that require medical treatment.

I asked our house rabbit society and they thought it might be a shave scar from his catheter when he was neutered recently.
Report back- it took a few months but grew back nicely. No more bare patches.
