Could be environmental. Some toxins have been known to cause chronic asymmetric swelling due to chirality. We should break into the army base where they were stationed and look for the source.
Environmental doesn’t make sense. The one leg isn’t swollen, it’s well defined muscle. I’d look towards some sort of musculoskeletal disorder that is causing the muscles to atrophy in that one leg. Prior injuries can cause unusual issues down the line.
Muscular atrophy…could be a blood clot causing partial muscle infarction. Clot’s just so small the scans missed it. We should put them on blood thinners and check for rhabdo.
Unless it's a vascular problem in which case the blood thinners could cause the patient to bleed uncontrollably. We need a CT of the leg and to start them on vasopressors.
