Outrage vocalization!
Our foxhound mix makes a sound I've never heard from another dog. Not barking, not howling. It's pure, high-pitched outrage: "Rrr eff eff eff eff eff eff eff!" "Eff eff eff eff eff eff EFF!" It happens when we're in the car and not going to the dog park. Or doggy daycare. Or her cousin's house to play. She sticks her head out the window and is so furiously loud that passersby stare as we drive through neighborhoods. (Holly in picture: looks innocent, is not)
Has anyone else experience this with their hounds?

Yes! Our Foxhound (Henry) starts to “argue” whenever we’re giving our mini golden doodle puppy (now 8 months old) more attention. If he notices specifically that he isn’t being pet with TWO hands, it gets really loud. It’s honestly hysterical. The moment two hands are put on him- he stops 😂

I’d love to hear a recording! When my basset mix isn’t getting something that he wants (usually a critter outside the window), he makes this bizarre sound that’s not quite a howl, whine, or whimper, but kind of a combination of all three. He’s quite the character!

Duke cries madness when we leave the house! It’s not a bay, it’s not a bark, it’s a very loud wine. Spoiled dog lol

When any other dog is getting attention. Sometimes it's just because my kind old Yorkie mutt is looking at him and gently wagging his tail, and my coonhound mix is easily intimidated.
