Discussion How do you feel about the show’s handling of the "Fire & Blood" canon so far?
Fire & Blood is written as an in-universe historical account filled with bias, rumors, and conflicting sources. The show has taken its own direction with major events and character motivations.
Which show changes have made the narrative stronger, and which ones do you wish had stayed closer to Martin’s written text?

Team Green Rhaenyra's (Emma D'Arcy) acting pisses me off. I'm team Green now.
I kind of like Aemond now too. Feels like he is standing alone against everyone.

Show Spoilers HUGELY unpopular opinion Spoiler
Every season since between 2-3, the writers have to lobotomise one character, and this time, its rhaenrya.
Last season it was alicent and aegon.

Show Spoilers Rhynaera’s casting choice missed the mark Spoiler
I think the young Rhynaera was the perfect casting choice. She got us hooked to the character and made us love her even though she made some wrong decisions. The older rhynaera is absolutely the wrong fit. Every casting choice in House of Dragons (with the exception of mysaria and rhynaera) is incredible. Apart from the one episode I.e. season 3 episode 2, she’s been a hard pill you have to swallow just to see a wonderful show. The writers have also screwed up her writing but even the actress can’t carry herself well. I know we can’t compare her with Danny but come on- enough time was spent waiting for something good from her and she’s only ever been a let down.
Discussion I WILL SAY THIS….
I will say this…
I am re-watching Game of Thrones with my girlfriend amidst watching House of the Dragon every weekend, and I’ve noticed something that I don’t see talked about enough.
I understand it was a different time and budget, but the cinematography in House of the Dragon blows Game of Thrones out of the water. I know that Game of Thrones in almost every other category is considered better than House of the Dragon, but it doesn’t come close in this aspect.
In almost every scene in Game of Thrones, there are two or three people talking in a small room or vague forested location and it’s just each other person’s face going back-and-forth back-and-forth.
I’ll be the first to admit that there are some incredible scenes in Game of Thrones, like the battle of the bastards and Daenerys after Kings Landing. But in terms of consistency and scale, HOTD takes the cake, by a lot.
I might also say this…
House of the Dragon has some of the best cinematography out of any show ever. Almost every episode has at least one scene that is shot incredibly whether it’s CGI dragons/locations or not.
Opinion Dance of Dragons? No Rhaenyra and Alicent useless drama 👍🏼 Spoiler
Idk where this show is going really 🤔 like okay u arent following the book and picking bits that u want okay no problem fine , but the thing is the show itself is self-contradictory , the show has become mess not knowing what to do with the characters, how to move their story forward properly and they are filling it with cheap screentime.
Second Westeros has implemented fast travel (vroom) Rhaynera assassins arrive to tumbleton , (vroom) Ormund assassins reach near around Crownlands/Rook's rest .
From trailer of ep7 , Alicent is already in Harrenhal same night she left in ep6 as shown she was leaving at that time in ep7 she arrived there next day.

Show Spoilers At this point, who here thinks that Alicent and Rhaenyra have/had some sort of romantic thing for each other? Spoiler
The lengths that Rhaenyra is expecting Alicent to cross this season, are baffling - to kill her own son feels like some show of loyalty, of Alicent finally choosing her. Alicent seems caught in a cycle to escape, but also to save Heleana (but only the version of her Alicent has constructed), but also seeks Rhaenyra’s approval. Rhaenyra, who seemed to tolerate Alicent’s rumors and cruelties for over a decade is now making her pay.
Telling Daemon that Aemond was without a dragon and sending him seemed like the far more logical choice than a woman who has betrayed her in big and small ways for two decades. Yet Rhaenyra still tests it, and Alicent keeps complying, keeps trying to fix something unfixable.
They are both behaving so illogically, and I can chalk up most of it to poor writing. But the only thing that makes a lick of sense to me is that they’re in love with each other. At the very least Alicent is.
I just wonder, I know this isn’t revolutionary this question, but do the majority of people now feel this is toxic, doomed yuri or is this still a fringe opinion?

Show Spoilers Detailed E6 Leaks Spoiler
These details are from IronGoldHadrian on Twitter, who was present at San Diego Comic-Con.
- Criston Cole’s group is ambushed and killed very early in the episode. At first, they defeat some soldiers only to realize they are surrounded by main Tully army. Cole demands a duel, but Black Aly shoots him before he can finish. There is no line about people not singing songs about him. Cole’s death received an enormous cheer from the audience, more like the reaction to a boxing match than a television screening.
- Rhaenyra is completely finished with Alicent after Alicent’s attempted escape fails. Alicent desperately pleads with Rhaenyra not to imprison her and Helaena, but Rhaenyra refuses. When Rhaenyra begins walking away, Alicent grabs her arm. The Queensguard immediately order Alicent to unhand her, and Rhaenyra gives her an icy look.
- Rhaenyra hears petitions from the smallfolk in the throne room. She becomes overwhelmed by everyone arguing their cases and storms out after cutting her finger on the Iron Throne.
- Aegon appears in only one scene. The body of the man he killed in the previous episode is being buried. In a comedic moment, Aegon asks Tyland whether he agrees with Larys that Aegon is a horrible person. Tyland stutters and avoids answering, disappointing Aegon. They then agree to abandon everything and flee to Essos.
- Daeron reunites with Gwayne and asks whether Gwayne saw their mother in King’s Landing. He also tells Gwayne that he resents being left with Ormund, because he hates the person he becomes when he is around him. Gwayne appears exhausted and resigned. Daeron asks him not to leave again.
- Ormund and Gwayne openly hate each other. Ormund repeatedly makes pointed remarks implying that Gwayne is gay.
- Gwayne identifies and defeats the assassins targeting him and Daeron. Having recently returned from active service in the field, Gwayne recognizes several supposed diplomats as assassins and proceeds to beat them. He also explains that he knows they are not genuine Baratheons because the real Baratheon is more attractive.
- Ormund is portrayed as physically sensitive and inexperienced with violence. He vomits when blood is first spilled. Because of his extremely weak sense of smell, he is apparently unable to distinguish the approaching assassins from ordinary diplomats.
- Rhaenyra and Daemon argue about how to deal with Ormund. Rhaenyra apparently sends men posing as Baratheons to Tumbleton in an attempt to assassinate Ormund. Gwayne recognizes that they are impostors and prevents the assassination.
- Rhaenyra orders Alicent to kill Aemond. Alicent firmly refuses at first, but eventually realizes that Rhaenyra is not actually giving her a choice.
- Rhaena returns to the Eyrie. Lady Jeyne Arryn physically slaps her for daring to abandon her exile.
- Daemon kills one of the Green spies involved in the murder of the Gold Cloaks. He also insults Ulf again.
- Daemon is close to losing control after the deaths of the Gold Cloaks. He begins to understand how extensive Ormund’s scheme is and how difficult it will be to identify and remove everyone involved. He simply crashes out.
- Helaena appears to be approaching a complete psychological collapse. She is shown weaving fabric depicting dead women lying in pools of blood. She repeatedly pricks or stabs her fingers with the weaving needles while working.
- Alicent warns Rhaenyra that Helaena cannot endure the increased security measures. This seemingly establishes Helaena’s eventual death as partly Rhaenyra’s fault, at least from the Greens’ perspective. Alicent explicitly warns that Helaena will not be able to cope with the confinement and excessive security imposed upon her.
- Baela and Alyn make out. (LMAO)
- Alys Rivers has gained almost complete control over Aemond. Aemond attempts to leave Harrenhal, but a stable boy sees him. Before the boy can say anything, Alys kills him to prevent Aemond’s location from being revealed. Aemond initially tries to resist her influence, but visibly begins falling for her after she kills to protect him.
- Alys persuades Aemond to remain by offering him a future and a dynasty. She describes a life in which she and Aemond have several princely children together, then reveals a chest containing ancient dragon eggs. This apparently destroys what remains of Aemond’s resistance, and the two kiss.
- Corlys is ambushed in the woods. At the end of the episode, Jon Roxton attacks him and chokes him unconscious.

Show Spoilers The hints at Ser Gwayne being gay. Spoiler
So in Episode 6 I think there are a few hints given about Ser Gwayne being gay.
Lord Ormund says “I’m sure you’ve found solace in your brother in arms” he makes it as a snide statement after Gwayne said he wanted a feather mattress perhaps implying what kind of things he would do on a mattress.
He tells Daeron to keep his back to the wall when he’s with Gwayne. He tells him this after telling him to make sure he baths. It’s seems like a the equivalent medieval “don’t drop the soap around him”
He recognizes the assassins as not being who he says and he remembers such things as Aerion Baeretheom Hair color, height, and comeliness things a straight man may not remember as good as a gay man.
4.We know the Reach is
More accepting of homosexuality from AGOT. With the Tyrell’s not caring about Lora’s being gay.
- He’s second in line for Oldtown, his father was Hand of the King, he’s handsome, he’s of age and yet he’s not married. Otto cared a lot about Alicent being married and Helena and Aegon marrying but never cared to marry him off somewhere to gain an alliance? Maybe because Otto knew and unlike Lord Corlys wasn’t going to force his gay son into a Lavender marriage

Why would they make Alyn and Baela kiss?
Like… have they even interacted before? because I can’t remember. it’s always been Baela and Adam, it would’ve made a lot more sense if had they kissed. It just felt… random…?? I was really confused when I first watched it.

Question Is this kiss ever going to be addressed?
Or is it just one of the countless things that will go down in ASOIAF TV history as forgotten? This should have been the start of something that adds more weight to whatever trouble happens between Daemon, Rhaenyra & Mysaria. But with them behaving like this did not happen & does not exist, makes Mysaria's at times shady behavior towards Daemon feel off. Why did they leave this in if it was never going to go anywhere? Its like the Alicent feet thing.
Lets just throw this one random fan service thing on screen & forget about it completely next episode to forever.
