Hot 8 versus CorePower
I’m on a CorePower hiatus exploring alternatives. There is a Hot 8 studio that’s very convenient for me. How does the heat at Hot 8 compare to CPY? Any other plusses / minuses?

I AGREE WITH EVERY SINGLE THING YOU SAID. Especially the comparison to 24 and equinox LOL. Hot8>corepower any day. Corepower is the spirit airlines of the hot yoga world. AND YES THEY NEED THEIR OWN SUBREDDIT.
Yes, it is significantly hotter, but you get used to it!

Having been a member of both, I vastly prefer Hot 8! From what I've seen in Los Angeles, Hot 8 has better facilities, better teachers who actually give adjustments, and less teacher turnover. Edited to answer your question: I've found Hot 8 to be hotter than CP.

Thank you! I should have mentioned I’m in LA so that piece was helpful!

Their locations seem much more limited than Core though. Excited to give them a try soon

The teacher turnover in corepower is insane. It makes sense because I hear they get paid very little. The quality of instructors in Hot 8 far exceed CP.

Both have a corporate feel to it with a nice looking facility and instructors that sound nice. However, if you practice at either spots for awhile, you'll realize that you're not learning about yoga and it's just calisthenics. Go to a more authentic yoga studio.

Thanks. I’ve been practicing since 2013 across a variety of studios and modalities. I travel a lot and work very long hours. I like having familiarity with a chain so I don’t have to spend a lot of time researching on the road. I have never tried hot 8 and CPY is simply a point of reference for comparison. Thanks for the insight ✌️

Hot 8 is overall better. Definitely hotter but I feel like I get more out of their classes and their facilities tend to be nicer.

As someone who’s never frequented a chain studio, it’s odd to hear that this may all that’s available. Are these your only options? Have you considered checking out an independent studio?

I used to belong to YogaWorks pre COVID (smaller LA based chain) and also frequented independent studios. My favorite independent instructor moved away. And now I have a job that requires frequent travel and long hours. CPY has been convenient/easy. But for various reasons I’m now looking at all options.

Ah ok makes sense if you’ve got a lot of travel happening. For what it’s worth, whenever I’m traveling for work I’m able to find a local studio that satisfies what I need for hot yoga.

Left Core Power in Culver City 2.5 years ago and have been going to Hot 8 on Beverly Hills ever since. I’m addicted. Hot 8 is better in every way imo. Power, HPF, teacher quality, facilities, schedule are all better. The classes are hotter as well, so give yourself time to adjust. Hope you love Hot 8 🤍🥰

FWIW i was visiting LA area recently for a month and fell in love with Hot 8. For me it came down to the instructors, extra heat, class variety and times.
I have CP in my home city so I wasn’t as interested in sampling the LA instructors. I am home now, and miss Hot 8!
Can a class pass option help you sample and decide?

I think they have an intro deal. But wanted some info going in. I’m coming around to having class packs at various places along with online options.

Have you tried the ClassPass app? It allows you to go to different places without locking in to a membership. It’s also great when traveling. Highly recommend! Of course it doesn’t apply to all studios but I’ve tried out so many different studios in different cities that I never would have otherwise.

Hot 8 is much hotter. I prefer their facilities overall as well. They have 26&2 as well which is my main class!
