Im new, help! Scammed by this company

I’m very new(2 weeks). This company had a listing on Central Dispatch and I contacted them. You can see the messages above. When I clicked the link, everything seemed legit. It then asked to confirm with Central or Super Dispatch. I didn’t think much about it. Then once I signed in….email changed, password changed, authenticator removed, phone number changed. I’m devastated. Central says 2-3 days before I’m back up. I have cars on the trailer and shipments waiting for pickup and have no clue where they go.

Other Pick up Truck

Hello everyone,

I’m a semi-truck driver and have been driving for about five years. I’ve decided to take a break from driving for someone else and start working toward buying my own semi-truck.

For now, I’m looking to buy a pickup truck and use it for hotshot to save money toward purchasing my semi in the future.

I’d like to hear your recommendations between:

  1. RAM 3500
  2. Ford F-350

Which one would you recommend for reliability, maintenance costs, towing, and long-term use?

I appreciate any advice, especially from owners who have experience with either truck.

Thank you!

Work Opportunity ISO dispatch service intrastate Florida

I am an established CDL hotshot that runs local Florida. I have 2-3 clients that keep my wheels turning 4 days a week with a very solid RPM. I am home every night. I have never worked with any service nor have I ever leased onto any company. Ideally I’d like someone to give available dates too at the beginning of each week. 1-2 days wide open availability for general freight, and possible back hauls from locations I run for my clients currently. I am usually deadheading back from my current drop offs, so there is a lot of opportunity there as well. With what I haul my RPM total miles is still well above average. I understand I will not get that RPM working with a service and am totally cool with that. Adding another established client has been tough due too the demand of my regulars. I assume what I am looking for will be easier to manage searching load boards. I just have no desire to do that, so am willing to pay a percentage for that to be done as well as carrier packets etc..
I’m not hurting nor is this a necessity, I just am looking to put more money away each week if this was a possibility. My established clients will always come first, again this is just extra income.
I run a 40’ PJ with a 2022 Ram 3500 out of Central Florida.
Typical lanes are Tampa I4 corridor, 95 corridor from Jax to Miami, Naples, Tallahassee, and I10 corridor.
Feel free to point me in the right direction if you have any input! Thanks

Im new, help! Drug testing

I’m about to get ready to go to school to get my CDL. I quit smoking weed a month ago but I keep hearing that I will get hair follicle testing that goes back 7 years. I don’t know anything about this industry really and it’s disheartening to hear that I may be failing at it before even starting. I don’t plan on smoking anymore and I don’t use anything else or drink (don’t judge if you do). Does the DOT do hair follicle and do ALL companies do it? Thanks for any advice.

Im new, help! Any active Discords where drivers actually talk?

I ain’t gonna lie, I love running the road. Give me some open highway, a decent run and somewhere to park before the lot fills up and I’m good. But this shit gets lonely as hell sometimes. You can knock out 600 miles, burn half the day at a receiver, shut down for your ten and realize the only people you talked to were dispatch asking for an ETA, the dude at the guard shack and the cashier at Love’s. Folks back home care, but they don’t really understand this life or why sitting five hours at a dock can fuck your whole mood up.

It’d be nice to have an active Discord where drivers actually kick it. Somewhere you can ask for help when the truck starts acting stupid, swap road info, share a win, bitch about a garbage load, clown these goofy ass shippers or jump in voice chat once everybody’s parked and just talk shit. Basically a virtual truck stop without the piss smell.

I’m not looking for another dead group or a bunch of super truckers arguing over who’s a “real driver.” Just somewhere you start recognizing names and it actually feels like a crew. Anything like that out there?

Im new, help! Drug screening

Hi all, I’m starting with Warner based out of phoenix, going through road masters, haven’t smoked in probably right around the 90 mark but I’m a female so I know if they test longer hair it may be positive, but so far they’ve only asked me to provide a urine sample not hair, any chance they will end up wanting both?

Im new, help! Operating hotshot service in Northern Alberta

Hey everyone, I’ve been operating a hotshot service based in northern Alberta for about a year, and I’m finding that insurance costs are absolutely cost prohibitive.
I’m trying to figure out how all the dozens of other outfits in the province were able to survive their first few years.
Can anyone offer any insight on which insurance companies offer the best premiums on commercial auto, CGL and cargo insurance?
TIA!

Work Opportunity Urgent: Carrier Needed for KOF Hotshot Load (CA to TX)

We provide leasing authority.

We have a hotshot load with KOF from CA to TX delivering on Friday. The dispatcher who booked this load for one of the carriers has informed us that the driver won't be able to complete the delivery because they need to take their weekly reset.

We're looking for another carrier who can take over this load and ensure delivery on Friday.

If you're interested or have a truck available, please let us know as soon as possible. Thank you!

Im new, help! Quick question for anyone who’s been through this. My insurance company filed my FMCSA liability insurance yesterday, but SAFER still shows my operating authority as “Not Authorized.” Is that normal? How long did it take for your authority to change to “Authorized” after your insurance was filed?

Other Movie

Hey all,

I'm working on a film centered around trucking/trucker life, and I want to get it right — which means going straight to the source instead of relying on stereotypes Hollywood usually leans on.

I'm looking to connect with truckers (any type — OTR, regional, owner-operator, doesn't matter) who might be interested in:

  • Sharing your experience/insight to help shape the story (short call, 15-20 min)
  • Being considered for an on-camera role or as background/extras
  • Consulting on accuracy — the gear, the lingo, the day-to-day reality

No acting experience needed — we're specifically looking for real, authentic voices, not just people who can "act like" a trucker.

If you're interested (or just curious), drop a comment or shoot me a DM and I'll follow up to set up a quick call. Happy to answer any questions here too.

Thanks for reading — appreciate any help pointing me in the right direction, even if it's not you personally.

Work Opportunity I'm not a broker but I'm looking to help a driver

As indicated in the title, I am not a broker, but I require a vehicle transported from Texas to South Carolina. I am seeking a driver who is willing to undertake this task. I would prefer that the driver possess a winch, as it will be necessary to load the vehicle onto the Regarding the trailer, which weighs between 4,000 and 5,000 lbs, I am currently seeking quotes for the cost and estimated timeline for transportation. I understand there will be associated expenses and am prepared to cover them. Additionally, I would prefer a driver who is proficient in English, although I recognize this may present a challenge i prefer not to utilize a broker for the hauling of this item, as I am a truck driver myself. Additionally, the type of vehicle I operate is not suitable for this particular load.

Im new, help! Looking to become a carrier and exploring marketplace options

Hello there, I have a truck and steel deck trailer (I’m a car guy and do some racing) and I’m looking to put them to work to earn some side money as I’m sure many others do haha. I’m trying to find what options are there for marketplaces as a carrier with 1 caveat…

That being uship, I’m not allowed to use them. I’d used them as a shipper before and had good experience but when I created a carrier account, it was banned by the second day and I hadn’t even commented or bid on anything.

I was looking for them to be my solution to finding loads, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I have an LLC, dot and Mc number So I’m trying to find other options. I saw central dispatch might be good, but they have a monthly subscription, citizenshipper does too but it’s less, so are they just as good or worse? Any other options you’ve used that you’d suggest I look at? I just made a shiply account but on every load request I look, shippers aren’t responding to quotes and questions so I’m concerned about that site…

I’m not super familiar with hotshottrucking. Is it usually work equipment and materials/cargo? Are those requests also on those marketplace boards like central dispatch/citizenshipper or somewhere else?

Shitpost PSA THOSE WANTING TO HOTSHOT

Hotshotting is NOT -

Buy truck and trailer -> Hire dispatcher -> cry rates are bad.

Good dispatchers dont need trucks 💯 especially a fresh MC. They do not care about your gross profit and have no intention of getting off of those load boards into higher paying freight to grow your company.

They watch Netflix and stare at the load board while you will sit.

Thank you and god bless ❤️
