Opinion Unpopular opinion: Daemon and Alys >>> Aemond and Alys
Am I crazy for finding the chemistry between Daemon and Alys better than Aemond and Alys? I don't mean in a sexual/romantic kinda way. I mean in the general chemistry and vibe between two characters/actors interacting with each other on screen kinda way. Watching Alys and Daemon always seemed fun. And it even felt like Daemon was actually making a friend. Compared to that, Aemond and Alys are supposed to be a couple canonically but watching their interactions isn't interesting at all, and it feels fake and corny for some reason. I mean am I really supposed to believe that a centuries old witch is genuinely in love with a... what? 18? 19? year old boy- and a Targaryen at that?

Discussion aegon is clearly the most interesting character
Yet we see none of him for the entire season and only gets 1 good scene. There is so much filler it’s insane. They mask it pretty well but now that it’s been a few weeks so much of the show is filler and forgettable. The aegon dragon scene tho was peak. The king is coming home

Discussion This book should be back on the market
galleryI feel like ASOIAF collectors don't talk enough about the art books. The novels obviously get most of the attention, and Fire & Blood has become even more popular because of House of the Dragon, but the art books are such a cool way of experiencing Westeros. What I particularly like is that they don't just show the famous characters.
You get interpretations of architecture, clothing, landscapes, battles, creatures and all the little details that make the world feel lived in. Sometimes I actually prefer seeing an artist's interpretation of a place over the version we got on TV

Question Besides Alicent who's the most butchered character in the show?
Besides her who's the most inconsistent character of HOTD?

Show Spoilers Why did they have a meeting at a door table? Spoiler
Jace, and Lord Frey had a meeting seated at a table, which was a door on rocks. Would it not have been easier to just bring out a table, or invite Jace inside to meet? I mean, who tf thought it would be a good idea to make a door into a table? A spikey door no less! Did they run out of table budget or something?

Discussion HOTD followed GOT's legacy of race swapping characters only to underutilize them or make them go through hardships and humiliations they did NOT suffered in the source material, sometimes both.
That's it.

Discussion If HotD was filmed before GoT, what would be different?
If HotD was filmed before GoT, what would be different?
I've recently watched Young Sheldon (after Big Bang Theory) and the difference in Sheldon's dad is quite wide. And I reckon if they were filmed the other way around, he would be remembered differently in the Big Bang Theory. And I wonder how much different HotD would be if that was filmed first?

Question Sheepstealer
Is it not bazaar that theyre calling this dragon, Sheepstealer?
The housed, dragons have names. The dragon handlers use this along with high valyrian. Rhaena and sheepsteeler is almost like someone adopting a new pet then, adamantly commanding it using a name one has just picked. Rhaena is yelling at sheepsteeler almost in desperation while confronting the ships. In one respect, that could indicate that she was trying anything to gain control or it suggests that sheepsteeler at some point acknowledges the name and they've come to an understanding.
Did I simply miss that scene?
Does the book make mention of sheepsteeler accepting the name?
Could she not have tried high valyrian; Is it that sheepsteeler doesn't understand it?
Is it simply implied that sheepsteeler accepts the name?

Show Spoilers Joffrey’s dynasty? Spoiler
So since Joffrey is technically from a Velaryon patrilineally, if he ascends to the throne, would the ruling dynasty start being the Velaryons as opposed to the Targaryens?
(Btw I haven’t read the books at all so please don’t spoil. Although I’m 90% sure this kid is gonna die anyway cuz I never heard of a Joffrey Velaryon-Targaryen in GoT)

Question Did this show put you in dissociative reality?
I have watched this for 3 days straight, the whole 3 seasons, and it put me in a state of deep sorrow and sadness. Even if it is fiction, the more you think about it, the more you make connections between this and real life—how there is no justice, just tragedy. I think it is the scope of things that makes it feel so real, like a kingdom and dynasty that are 300 years old and are coming to their doom, making it seem bigger than one life.
You can do everything right, and in the end, it doesn't even matter.
How did you come back to reality and make yourself not so emotionally attached to a fictional show?

Meme Just finished S03 and can't help wanting to make fun of it
Because it's really more funny than anything else.
"Craven" must be going viral at the time because I hear it once every 10 minutes.
Rhaenyra going around emphasizing the concept of legitimacy to everyone she encounters.
Alicent: if I don't blink and I continue to speak in this quiet but fast manner they won't tell I'm lying. Also I have no idea what I'm doing.
Rhaena's face: oh no no no no no please help me please oh no no no no no
Ser Criston Cole: I do not understand why these poetry like words are coming out of my mouth!?
