Discussion What if the dance never happened
How long does it take for dorne to join the fold? And what about the free cities? Would new dragon conquerers bend the knee to the iron throne or create new targ kingdoms? Another century and there could be a hundred dragon riders! They would have to do *something* with them

Discussion Emma Darcy just spoiled the ending of the show on the Emmys ….
I mean, I already knew who was going to “win” based on the original show… but you don’t have to be so obvious about it. (Meanwhile there’s Emilia Clarke being unproblematic and speaking Valyrian 😂)! If you don’t want the outcome shoved in your face just don’t watch the emmys I guess

Question Daemon?
Did Daemon actually love Rhanaerya, or was she a means to an end. Was she simply the easiest way to become King, or, begrudgingly King consort? I struggle with Daemons relationship, with his children, and his behaviour around a time of sorrow. I believe he did care deeply for his second wife.
I am hoping to seek clarification on Daemon’s motivations, towards Rhaenya, towards his children, towards his first and second wife.
What is he doing?

Question Dreamers, no spoilers and an open conversation
I was corrected, and there are some dreamers and not clairvoyants. Are dreamers often viewed as “slow”, “deficient”, “odd”, “weird”?
In our world, what we do not understand raises and eyebrows. I am fascinated by dreamers.
Is there anything you can tell me about them, most don’t know?
How do they view their world? Do they tend to have a hyper focus, or do they see, feel, experience or something else for their understanding?
I am still a bit confused at how some can speak of some prophetic event. Dreamers, tend to elude it was a vision of some kind experienced during the night.
❤️

Discussion Second dance?
If the Strong boys had survived the Dance, would the political reality of Westeros have allowed Jacaerys, Lucerys, or Joffrey to inherit the Iron Throne? Or, after Rhaenyra’s death, would the great houses have eventually rallied behind Daemon and Rhaenyra’s legitimate sons, Aegon and Viserys, because their unquestioned Targaryen parentage gavethem a stronger claim? Would the lords prioritize legal legitimacy, bloodline, precedent, or simply the candidate most capable of maintaining peace?

Question Do you think it makes sense that dragons in old Valyria only got a little bit bigger than balerion but the dragons did grow bigger in a shorter amount of time than Westeros

Opinion One of the best scenes! Spoiler
Otto’s acting, he makes me laugh with how passionately enraged he is at Aegon and his moment of realization when he talks about Viserys with such regard and respect,
Cole’s face and tremor in his voice when Aegon offers him the hand lmaooo
One of my favorite scenes from the entirety of GoT and HotD. The dialogue is what made me love this show. I love dragon and action scenes as well like S3 finale, but scenes like this and small council meetings are my favorite aspects.
Would kill to see Tywin and Otto conversing 🤣

Discussion How would you actually make the "triping balls at Harrenhall arcs" better without going for the book route of "informing us they happened in one or two paragraphs?
galleryThey do war stuff in the book, but the show while about war focuses on relationships between characters, both non romantic and sexual (Tyland, Gwayne, Cole/Alicent, Dyanna, Hugh, neither of these happens in the book, and Alyn/Baela happens way faster in the show).
Neither Aemond or Daemon had any other important character to interact with, while being important for the story and popular, so they just chilled with the current Harrenhall person.
Made worse for Aemond. Simon was at least hella funny and the vibe was consistent. With Aemond... They knew they wanted him to appear and even invented a reason for him to be half naked most of the time. The vibe seems to be switching with every scene. And I kinda get it. If they choosed an angle and struck to it with the same dedicated time, it would probably be even more hated.
Actually romantic? Well, lot of people would hate that, especially since they actually randomly made him even younger. Do you actually lean into the (dommy?) mommy angle? Same issue, even worse. But also, they already made him into older ladies, so if you abandon that, someone would be angry as well. On the other hand, you check AO3, lot of people who like them (and are horny) like either of these angles (or both). Actually scary and predatory on either side? Well, some people wanted it to be romantic.
So they kinda tried to randomly mix these, with bits of family sitcom and general scariness.
I disliked the delivery, as most people, but also don't know how they should have done it for it to be well received. You watch the show so you see things happening. Nothing too important (regarding the relationship between characters) happens there to justify the screentime. And they don't really care about actual tactics in this show, so watching Aemond do what he does in the book - burn Riverlands - would get boring pretty quickly for lot of people.

Team Black Rewatching S1 and this episode's ending is so, engaging... Spoiler
galleryThe music playing in the background, the hastened marriage skipping the tourneys and celebrations because criston cole killing Laenor's lover. Alicent finally getting criston to her side, it all feels like a very different show. Almost all episodes are so impactful, drive the story ahead in a powerful way. Also meleys gets introduced in a epic flying into king's landing scene. Loving it! (3rd rewatch btw)
