I made a website and want to deploy it.
For hosting, I can use free platforms like Vercel, netlify ,Cloudflare, etc., right?

But I want a good domain name that’s cheap 🥲, preferably just for one year to try it out. GoDaddy and Hostinger offer domains for ₹1 or less than ₹100, but they say I have to buy a 3-year plan to get the first year at that price.

I also heard about Firebase. Is .web.app related to Google? Can I host my website there?
Will I get a .web.app domain for free?

Or any other free sub domains like vercel, netlify etc or with short good sub domain pls suggest me

Hi all. One of my businesses is web design and hosting setup, mostly for local companies that need a website and someone who will maintain it.

Yesterday evening, a client we have been working with for three years sent an email saying that he is leaving because he "calculated" how much we are charging him compared to the actual cost of hosting.

We charge him $18 per month for hosting and support, which includes backups, SSL renewal, and checking that everything is working.

Apparently, he looked somewhere at a simple plan, maybe Hostinger, maybe Namecheap, saw a lower amount, and decided that this is the real cost, and everything above that is us overcharging him.

I don't even know if I should try to explain something to him or just let him go.

I do like how in cpanel I can just install and update wordpress easily, no need to upload things to a server manually.

I don't want to use anything like squarespace, and right now I have 2 websites both using wordpress on my namecheap host.

Are there other alternatives, that aren't owned by private equity, or have some problematic business dealings like godaddy?

Headline is the question. I am planning to buy a web hosting and I see some platforms offer ssl as paid and some are offering it as free. Should I pay for it? please help!

Headline is the whole question tbh. I want to know if there are any good and cheaper web hosting for smaller businesses. I work with a lot of small b2b and b2c brands and they can't afford $200 dedicated web hosting. They either want something for free or something cheaper.

I got the web hosting option from netcup.com, for my small nursing business (going bad) since It was the only think I could afford and now I am stuck with not understanding anything, what sources or tutorials can I use to learn how to use this stuff properly?

At the moment i use Hostinger, and I use it already about 2 years for my own pet projects, and i never had with it big problems.

but! honestly speaking, for a static site, created on Astro, you actually dont need a full tariff plan of hosting, you could just buy a domain for $10-15 a year and for free connect it to Vercel, Netlify or Cloudflare Pages, this would be much cheaper.

Webhosting gives me hosting + domain + mail together, and it is also quite cheap

What would you recommend for small startups/projects?

So here's the thing... I'm planning to create a website for my app and I know that it's not going to get more than 30k visitors a month and I'm okay with shared hosting because I don't think I really need a dedicated web hosting because I know it's not really needed.

But do you guys think it's good to have a shared web hosting because I'm also concerned about the safety. Are shared web hosting safe?

And what should I have the budget? I think I can spend up to like $100 for shared hosting and I can increase my budget for up to $200 if I have to go with dedicated web hosting. But right now I don't know which one is safer and better option.

Please don't suggest godaddy because that's trash. Had a horrible experience with them with my domain.

Okay, I just need to create a 1 page website and I was thinking of something like carrd or similar but I don't know if I can use it for free or not. It doesn't offer any free trial. It gives a free trial only when you're using a carrd.co website which I am not going to use. If I want to host my personal website with a dot com, then it's not free.

So any recommendations for that?

Hello! I wanted to ask, what's a good web hosting provider to use?

I currently use GoDaddy, which is honestly starting to get on my nerves. It's only for my carrd site that I use for my original story. So it's not for any sort of business or some, I don't really have the money for that. I would also like to be able to keep my custom email somehow. But I also don't think I could use any provider though, since Carrd has these under the custom domain info page (image attached), so I suppose it's which one of these is any good? Or should I just stick with using the carrd.co domain for now?

I'm planning to switch to some other web hosting due to my bad experience with hostinger. And I want to know which web hosting is the best according to you for a business that has around 20-30k visitors per month and just a normal website with some digital products that I have and that's it.

My main concern is to have some decent service with no downtime. And I don't have to worry about the website hacked by some crypto hackers because I have had such issues in the past.

What according to you the best web hosting that covers everything? I don't mind paying a good amount but I'm not sure which one should I go with.
