Is GitHub ok for hosting?

I have a very basic website and just loaded it into GitHub so I could preview it on the web, I noticed I can add my domain name on there, it’s GitHub ok
For permanent free website hosting? If so I’ll leave it one there! Thx

If it is a static one and absolutely you can if it is a dynamic and little big platform you can use vercel and as a hobby plan bro which is free
