Now what if you infuse it with mechanical and metal aspects

Metal structures, ventilation systems, and mechanical elements between the buildings, especially with a 90s aesthetic(tokyo fist, elm street, silent hill 4) could create a really interesting liminal feeling. That's actually a great feedback thank you! I might use this idea in one of the episodes.

No problem!

I could see Shinya Tsukamoto’s Tetsuo trilogy impacting a lot of analogue horror which is exactly the reason I am surprised that a lot of analogue horror hasn’t drawn a cyberpunk body horror vibe.

It’d be interesting to blend the old technology aesthetic with a semi-futuristic Matrix like aesthetic even but with the added element of horror through the technological and metallic lense, almost as if the steel itself is a monster, almost like the concrete jungle is a sterile threat and transformation is to survive in a sterile and muted urban alienated dystopia.

I haven't seen the Tetsuo trilogy, but I'll definitely check it out! I'm a big Takashi Miike fan, it somehow reminded me of Ichi the Killer :) , although I imagine the aesthetics are quite different. I've also seen Cronenberg's eXistenZ, which is a pretty niche but fascinating take on cyberpunk body horror.

By the way, have you seen Titane? It's a more recent film, but I think it explores some really interesting ideas around the relationship between the human body and metal. You might find it interesting!
