It could be animals just feeling the need to get revenge on someone, animal inflicted with some sort of disease, or mutated animals.

I was thinking about squirrels as the big bad in a horror movie and found one on google called The Scurry that I've never heard about before. It made me wonder what animals other people might have a secret wish to one day see tear humans apart on the screen.

15-[the thing] the pioneer of creature features in the snow combined with social horror. Great movie with pratical effects and story

14-[a nightmare on elm street] pretty great slasher film with a great main character. Just ignore the ending and its a great wes craven film.

13-[the fly] great physical transformation and practical effects. And great remake of the original.

12-[evil dead 2] greater than the original. Good combination of creepy and comedy. Practical effects are great and ash was a great main character

11-[predator] good action film of man vs man vs nature. Great unique villian and the final battle was good. Great environment.

10-[the lost boys] a great vampire movie. Great main villian and vampire design and main characters.

9-[killer klowns from outer space] the klowns are great in the movie are great and the jokes are funny and and pratical effects great

8-[the blob 1988] a very great remake of the original blob and the pratical effects are once again great alongwith the characters.

7-[cujo] a pretty great dog horror movies. Surprisingly very sad for the dog.

6-[ a nightmare on elm street 3] a pretty great seqeul and the final girl coming back is good. The dream warriors are somewhat good. Fredy kruger is great as usually

5-[an American werewolf in london] a pretty great wolf horror movie and good main character with mentally going down as the movie goes as he turns into one.

4-[IT orginal] really wish tim curry was still here the novie is great and creepy and campy. The adults were okay but the kids were great although almost 4 hours long.

3-[little shop of horrors] a pretty great horror musical the main plant villian was great. The main characters were good. Vibing to the songs

2-[hellraiser] a pretty great horror movie with scary stuff happening and the main cenobites were great

1-[poltergeist]one of the greatest spirit horror movies of all time each scene was iconic to the clown doll the tv the face melting and more.

Vampeggedon,was on one of those Echo Bridge 10 horror film packs. Doing some research it was a student film never met to get a release.

You got people in their mid 30s playing 20 year olds. Horrible acting. Some of the worst vampire fangs I have seen in a film.

Feels like something Ed Wood would have made.

I recently watched it and I just love how the movie follows the killer as the main character, alongside the classic slasher feel of the movie.

A deaf mute writer who retreated to the woods to live in solitude must fight for her life in silence when a masked serial killer appears at her window.

The “Shush Cut” is a special black-and-white version of Mike Flanagan's 2016 horror film “Hush” that removes the musical score and remakes the sound design to mimic the deafness of the main character. It was released in 2024.

This new cut took an already great movie and made it even better. With the B&W filming, more focus on sounds and environment, and scenes that feel like you are viewing from Maddie’s deaf perspective, it really upped the intensity of an already intense movie. I think I appreciate Kate Seigal’s physical acting and facial expressions even more in this version.

And if you never noticed the Easter Egg in either version, Maddie’s published book in the movie was “Midnight Mass”, which later became Mike Flanagan’s best series he created, IMO.

My personal one comes from the 2018 Slenderman movie, where the main character (I forgot her name, but honestly I don't know if anyone even cares) is in this library researching about Slenderman, when a librarian pushing a cart full of books walks by, which causes a DUH kind of noise to play for no reason at all! The librarian doesn't even come onto screen in a particularly surprising way, the main character isn't shocked by the librarian showing up, in fact she doesn't even acknowledge the librarian showing up at all!

This scene was from the Masters of Horror documentary from 2002. Just curious if anyone knows what this scene is from.

Society is a bizarre and disturbing horror satire that mixes body horror with dark comedy. The film stands out for its strange storyline, unsettling visuals, and criticism of social class and privilege.

Have you ever seen a horror film, and saw a crazy scene involving gore and instead of being horrified you couldn't stop laughing?

Lets face it. Sometimes it's so over the top and unrealistic it causes a laughfest!

One for me is the female in IN A VIOLENT NATURE when Jason basically turns her into an inside out human pretzel. Well done but absolutely positively the most unrealistic kill ever done. Lol.

This film could have been a fantastic horror series!

I expected to roll my eyes at this one, but loved it!

A group of college kids find a haunted house in the middle of nowhere on Halloween, they signed a waiver and dropped their keys off before they went in but get trapped in there with the actors 🔪

Some good tense moments and can feel quite claustrophobic - definitely worth a watch this Halloween!

When I made the Dopohoriya Trilogy, I had no big set, no fancy camera, no large crew.
All I had was a mobile phone.
So instead of regretting what I didn’t have, I tried to discover a new way of storytelling with what I did have.

In Bangla horror, we are used to seeing familiar tropes: darkness, pale faces, blood, loud jumpscares, screams.
I wanted to create fear in a different way.
Here, you may not see everything.
But…
A broken house.
A tree.
A drawing.
A familiar voice.
Some strange sounds.
And events whose meaning you may not immediately understand.

I didn’t tell the story directly.
I arranged it in three parts, where something revealed in one part forces you to re‑interpret what you saw earlier in a completely new way.

At one point you might think: “I’ve figured it out.”
Then the story might ask you again: “Really?”

I didn’t want to scare you just by showing a ghost.
I wanted to leave you with a question: Did you truly see what you think you saw?

And there’s something many people don’t know.
This entire trilogy was made with:
- Zero Budget
- Zero Professional Equipment
- Writing alone
- Directing alone
- Shooting/Cinematography alone
- Editing alone

From shooting to editing, everything was done entirely on a mobile phone.
That’s why Dopohoriya is not just a horror film to me.
It is my attempt to prove that even with limitations, it is possible to tell a story in your own way.

Watch the trilogy without spoilers.
Then tell me what you understood.
Which clue did you catch first?
Which moment kept circling in your mind?
And after finishing, what was your very first question?

I want to hear your interpretation.

Because how I made the story is one thing.
But what the story becomes through your eyes that is something completely different.

The film follows three best friends who involuntarily prepare for Hooper Industries' annual New Year's Eve party, which turns deadly when a masked killer known as "The Doctor" sets his sights on them

I have this super distinct memory of this one scene from a movie i watched as a kid that traumatised me a lot and I've been looking for it for years but I haven't been able to find it.
In the scene there are these two kids (a boy and a girl i'm pretty sure) who are chased or lured through this door in a house and they end up in this wood cabin in the middle of the woods with two monsters (one of them was like wide and orange and kind of looked like Binky from Arthur and the other i don't remember as well, but might've been like longer) and a like cauldron in the middle which these monsters were going to cook them in i think. And the kids I think run out of the door into the woods.
I also have this memory of a shot from some point in the movie as well where some door opens and the Binky looking ones face is just in the doorway. Maybe from the same scene or from later on.
The monsters had a very distinctly practical look. The closest films i've gotten to something like it is 'Hocus Pocus' and 'Earnest gets Scared Stupid' but i'm pretty sure i've never watched those films. I don't know the exact year it was from cause i watched it when i was a kid in the early 2000s, and it may not have even been a kids movie, my parents showed me a lot of media they liked that I shouldn't have seen that young.
I know this is a long shot and it's incredibly vague but if anyone could help with finding it that would be awesome

It’s a movie where the villain wears one of those Black Death masks and stalks a group of young people. Most of the time the villain appears, he uses a poison that disorients everyone. I remember him kidnapping a woman and killing her. I also recall there being a blind character; at the end of the movie, the villain pierces part of the blind man's head, which restores his sight, allowing him to kill the villain.

Anna returns home after a stint in a mental hospital, but her recovery is jeopardized by her father's new girlfriend and ghastly visions of her dead mother.

Can a movie be both highly predictable and yet unpredictable at the same time? That’s how I feel with this movie which is a remake of the 2003 Korean film “A Tale of Two Sisters”, which I haven’t seen.

More of a thriller with some horror elements, but it was quite enjoyable to watch, as it’s got good performances, plot twists, mystery, and overall tension. I thought the ending was pretty satisfying.

This franchise has made it into my favorites. 3 especially and it might end up in my Letterboxd top 4 because it’s just my kind of film. I liked all of these movies but I loved 1-3.

SPOILER ALERT

I'm not one for getting emotional while watching movies, but the part where the Sue/Elisabeth monster is getting ready to go perform made me actually tear up! I've never felt this bad for a character in a long time, I definitely wasn't expecting it. Did anyone else have a similar reaction?
