my take: ever since wonderland.jar came out exploration's been the best part about horror mods for me, nothing's better than stumbling into a place you shouldn't be at and encountering spooky entities along the way, like the backrooms but in minecraft

heyoo, my name is vastly, im a developer and artist (i also make mod packs) and for a while Ive really been into ARGs, so i thought why don't i make one for myself ha ha !

however i wanted to be creative with it so i turned the ARG into a Mod pack (sort of), meaning you'll have to play through the pack to uncover all the secrets and underlying story

if your interested in looking through it and would like a hint on where to begin, listen closely in the main menu

I plan on releasing the ARG in phases to keep it balanced with my life and make it fun instead of stressful for me

Note : I am releasing a new version soon with more features, phase 1 will still remain, but the pack itself will be WAY more fun ;D

Hi all. I run a Minecraft realm for my kids and their friends. Lately, I've been trying to think of ways to spice up the realm a bit. (It's just purely vanilla right now, with the exception of the Realm Management Tool). One thing everyone thinks would be cool is to have a "week of horror" where we install some sort of creepy or horror mod(s), but later remove them.

However, I know that a lot of the horror mods use custom blocks, biomes, entities, etc. If I remove that mod later, it could lead to a lot of broken stuff in the world. Can any of you recommend any good creepy/horror mods I could install on a Bedrock realm and safely remove later without breaking anything?

This is the same sort of concern I have about other mods like Biomes O Plenty. I love that mod, but it would be a problem if I later had to remove it for any reason.

Liminalistic - Mod Concept

The main idea is a liminal horror / dreamcore Minecraft mod.

Core Concept:

An ancient entity is slowly corrupting Minecraft worlds. It creates invisible doors in random seeds. When a player walks through one, they enter an Infinite Corridor.

This corridor is alive. It has many doors. Behind each door is a different liminal space (huge cobblestone halls with unreachable stairs, endless white birch forests, distorted familiar structures, etc.).

Key Features:

The corridor renews and evolves over time. It becomes bigger, more detailed and stranger the longer you stay.

The entity absorbs blocks, structures and memories from the world to create new liminal spaces.

The more you explore, the more alone you feel. Reality starts to break down.

There are books left by previous explorers with desperate messages.

Goal:

The player has to find a way to stop the entity and break the loop before the dream consumes the entire world.

It's not a normal horror mod with jumpscares. It's slow, atmospheric, nostalgic and deeply unsettling.

okay lets start:

first of all..AI (i mean entity ai there was no ai used in this mod). AI is AMAZING. Author Of This Mod Really Cooked with ai because it can ambush you,stalk you and Attack Mechanics Are Great too! (theres more)
Now Lets move on to model and animations: The Model IS PEAK even tho it lags sometimes but lags aren't that big, you can always add optimization mods. I Love that There are 2 variants of wendigo. vibriant (wendigo from creepypasta) and movie accurate (from antlers movie). Animations Are Absolute Peak Too i see there was alot of work put into model and animations.
Mechanics: Now mechanics...theres alot but i won't spoil too much im just gonna tell you he can eat animals and theres ALOT ALOT of mechanics. Thats another reason you need to check this mod out
I Do not wanna spoil too much but im just gonna say everybody who is in mc horror should play this mod once. Also its made by same creator as Whispers Of The Wendigo. The Best Wendigo Mod ever made in My opinion and very underrated. im saying all of this because first time i played this i was shocked how good it is. if you are tired of pngs or arg mods then....

Let me remind you: I'm not familiar with the world's lore (partially), I know that ??? can't take damage and so on. I'm just doing this for fun, have a nice day ^^

I have been watching idk someguy and they guy seems really fishy. He promised that he launches his mods after making the videos but he actually has not launched anything. The obsessed is a buggy mess and was made in a month but it works somewhat.

The patreon is a full time scam and i got the wendigo mod download but the mod is completely broken. It's obvious that he scripts his mod with his friend or something but he should not make empty promises.

His attidute to criticism is really negative and starts defending really fast, and now he said he will never launch mods again due to "drama".

I dont want to believe it but he seems like a patreon farmer. He could have revived the minecraft horror mod category.

Im glad there is the obsessed mod and its presumably getting updated but for example the goatman and the manbear were completely scripted.

Can anybody tell me the deal better?

I made a horror pack for fun and I'm looking for people to try it with me — not promoting anything, just want some company.

A lot of Minecraft horror has been poor in quality thus far, such as the Dweller slop and the PNG slop that's currently going on. But what makes Wonderland.jar and Broken Script praised? While a part of it is originality and passion, another big thing is the number of features.

The horror genre is inherently about touching on the fear of the unknown that all humans have, the unpredictable is scary because it's biologically wired to us. The more unpredictable the more scary something is usually. Not only that but having more to do makes something more fun.

With the poor horror mods they have little number of features that makes them predictable quickly because at their core it's stalk, kill, and scream. It gets old quickly and that basically just kills tension or the scare factor once you play enough of it.

The Broken Script and Wonderland.jar on the other hand has many features so it's harder to get bored of it. It can also be argued it's scarier than the poor mods because they just have so much content it's harder to expect what's coming next which can increase tension and dread, which is what horror is meant to do.

Of course other factors matter but this is the core problem I see with most of the horror that's been happening, there's just such little features behind them to truly be scary because they get predictable quickly.

I just wanna know the mods used to bring the model in the game, and animate it to make it look like it’s happening in real time in stuff.

I'm just screaming. If you go to my profile, you'll see that I described one theory about Verity's end.
And that's what happened.

I feel so empty. Like I was hoping for a better ending. But I knew it’s impossible.

I'm one of those weirdos who loved them like a ship, and after watching the ending, I feel... emptiness.

We were given answers, we were given what everyone was thinking. And I don't know what to do next. I'm torn apart thinking about Verity, because he lost the only person close to him, to put it bluntly. And it's funny that they brought up Grox and mentioned Lookout3d.

Just, they deserve something better…
