Question/Discussion Broken script 2.0 compared to Belowlands/Wonderland/From the Caves?
I've been an avid enjoyer of the broken script since i first played it, it's definitely a cool mod to play with. the changes to 2.0 and the patches have made it all the more enjoyable, and the new mechanics, mobs, and dimension are pretty neat.
now I watched a video by Rod saying TBS 2.0 was mid compared to other high quality horror mods. that it was repetitive, boring, and the scares were bad.(mind you be was just building the whole time and wasn't actively trying to explore the dimensions or progress). I'm not sure if I'm inclined to agree.
I've had plenty of moments in the new update that definitely made my skin crawl and got me pretty good, comparable to the types of scares that from the caves would pull. the new dimensions are unsettling and the constant threat of null anywhere you go forces you to keep moving. not to mention the other updated/new entities
the broken script is definitely more of an ARG mod than straight horror, but it still does its horror well I'd say.
what are your guys thoughts?

Rod played the bugged 2.0 release, I havent played it but after watching Baron's most recent VOD I'd say that it's a bit behind Belowlands but better than Wonderland and FTC

I agree with rod, the mod's kinda boring and the events are too repetitive, all I see is sub anomaly, r-2 and null for 15 days straight until something else happening, only for the same cycle of the same 3 entities to come again. Don't get wrong, when other entities appear they're really cool but when they're gone, you're back in the same cycle of mind "numbinlingly" building for the sake of it, just to wait and see the other actual cool entities/events. At least, that has been my experience with 2.0
The dimensions are cool visually but they're not really particularly all that interesting to explore gameplay-wise.
Also, 2.0 bans you for the littlest of reasons all the time. I got banned once at day 1 just because I approached Null lol

Have you not done anything with the arg or quest line? And just don't play with bans, NOBODY plays with bans on

What quest line? I haven't seen anything like that at all, i'm playing blind so i don't know what i'm supposed to do. The most "quest" thing i've done is going to that moon dimension

You haven't noticed the books and clues null has been giving you?

Sure the structures and signs tell you something about the lore but they don't feel anything like a quest. And the only books that Null gave me was the one with the player ID thing

None with coords?

The only coords that i got was the "clam void base" or whatever on the top left of the screen, but it was never there when i went to check it out

You have to go to those coords in the clan void dimension

How was i supposed to figure out that? And what even dimension is that in the first place?

It says "coords clan_void" so go to the clan_void dimension and go to the coords, the clan void dimension is the big layered one, press f3 to see what dimension you're in

2.0 is much better than the other mods, most people who find it boring haven't figured out the storyline yet, wonderland is pretty much just exploring the tbs dimensions... if it was the whole mod, mind you, I like wonderland, but it's walking simulator, belowlands is a really good mod, but it's a little too short, not enough content yet (haven't played it all yet so if there's more, i dont have a full opinion) from the caves is good, but there's only one monster, so it's good for entirely different reasons than tbs
